I have been interested in going flybarless for my Rave for a while now. I'm a Futaba guy and don't want to use a full receiver and the mini V-bar together on my Rave. This would just be to much room and take away from the nice clean look of the Rave.

I started checking into satellite receivers for Futaba and came up with this. http://www.hobbydirekt.de/product_i...ducts_id=158158
The receiver is very small.

I then got on the Robbe web page and found their US dealer. There is one in California. After contacting them, they are going to look into getting me the receiver.

Here is a pic with the Mini V-bar.

If I can get the receiver I will buy the rest of the stuff to go flybarless. This will be so cool. I'll keep you posted.

Here is a link on RR that talks about the receiver. https://rc.runryder.com/helicopter/t548815p1/

All receivers are remote

Futaba doesn't use "satellite" receivers like Spektrum.

What serial bus does is allow you to connect all of your servos to one main "bus" wire. This technology has been in use in cars and aircraft for many years. It reduces wire bulk and takes advantage of microprocessor control. Basically each end device has a device ID. Signals for all of the devices get sent down the one line and branch off to each of the devices. Much like USB on your computer.

It does make power supply a little more complicated and I believe you need special servos.

Chris, be really interested to hearing if this works with Futaba tx for sure! I am in market for new radio, deciding do I stay with Spektrum or goto an Airtronics SD-10 or the Futaba 8. What is holding me from Futaba is the rx issue, or as you say remote satt concept that spektrum has so well in place. I am just simply BAFFLED Futaba is dragging their feet so hard on this?? I mean all the BNF goodies, all the new FBL systems and so fourth all coming with the remote connects I doesen't make sense for Futaba to sit on the fence any longer???

BTW wonder what kind of range that Robbe unit gets, also it's speed etc...?

...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

According to this it's not full-range, it's aimed at ultralights and small (up to 450) helis http://www.rcheli-store.de/Elektron...&c=1036&p=1036]
I also have one in transit but seems like it's single antenna unfortunately. At least it's full resolution - 2048. I'll wait till the high-speed dual-antenna equivalent comes out till I replace the R6008HS on any of my >450 helis
I was also thinking of switching to spektrum for the same reasons basically, but decided to stick with Futaba at least for now, since I also own two pre-sat vbar units which can't take the spektrum satellite anyway. Besides, I <3 my spread-spectrum, has been bullet-proof for years now I just wish someone could wake them up

I had contacted a dealer in California for the receiver. He said that he would look into get the receiver and how much it would cost. Never heard back from him.

I have put it on hold for now, waiting to see what we get here in the states for S-bus systems.

As for the radio, Futaba does always seem to be second when it comes to release. On that note their stuff it usually far better and more refined from later release dates than other manufactures. Matt Botos has a nice wright up about the 8FG at his home page here.http://mattbotos.com/
