OK, long term nitro flyer here. Thinking about doing an electric. This would also be my first flybarless heli also. Is the 400 a stable machine if you want it to be? Is it worth it or are there other suggestions? Thanks.

I've been happy with mine. The V-bar is a different world when it comes to stability and agility as you can have both at the same time. Doesn't hurt that the 400 is also cheap to repair.

For what it's worth, I gave up a 90 nitro for my FBL 400 and haven't regretted it yet.

LOGO 400 is awesome, you'll love it flybarless. The VBAr allows you to dial it in anyway you like. And get ready for power. With 6S and the right batteries (20C or more) you'll start to think, "why are all my nitro helis so much less powerful???"

I'd recommend the scorpion 1600 or 1400 motor, Hyperion G3 6S 2600 35C lipos (you could also go to 3000mah hyperions, which are coming out shortly), jive or castle esc, hitec 5245 or futaba 9650 cyclic, futaba 9254 or bls 9256 servo for tail, radix main blades.

400 is stable and a nice machine but if you can afford it with lipo prices going down go for a 500 SE or 600 on 6s with 600 blades, it flies much, much nicer than the 400. If you want to keep price low the hacker combo 400 is probably the best bang for buck.

Common sense may not be common after all

I agree with Stolla, if you can spend an extra couple hundred bucks, go straight for the 500/600. My 400 flies great but I wish I would have gone bigger. HK batteries are so cheap it's ridiculous.

i really like my 400, had a 500 and having a 600 but would not trade the 400 away, it is for me a truly amazing heli and i have no fear for it

i started with nothing and still got most of it left

Its not the money or anything. Like I said this is going to be my first electric and my first flybarless heli so I don't want to really go overboard with the 500 or 600. I was originally going to go with a trex 500 but I figure I want something better than that. If I like the 400 I would probably go for the 500 or 600 at another time. Right now I'm up in the air on the 400...some people say its awesome and they gave up their 90 nitro for it and others say don't bother and go for the 500 or 600.
