I have to say it takes the same time to set up heli with VBar as it does with flybar you still need to learn things at first but once you are familiar with it then it is faster also with VBar after a crash you save time repairing and re setting up so it works out in the end .I like VBar because of PC interface this way I can see what is going on before I try to spool up and heli goes crazy and destroys itself.I'm not dragging down Align FBL but tried others and VBar is still on top for me . I think the only complaint that you hear is the cost well you get what you pay for IMO !!

I stole it ,flew it and gave it back ;)

With the V bar you load a preset then adjust it in many ways for your style and type of flying.

The Align system will just have one setting, adjusting rates and travel can be done just as easily on the V Bar via the Tx as it seems it can on the Align system. The difference is with V Bar you can adjust so much more if you WANT to but dont have to.

Seeing as the Align system uses the Tx for the swash mixing etc then it will in theroy be a quicker way to upgrade your model by just swapping the head and setting the unit.

On the V Bar you need to do radio setups and swash levelling etc also but if you take into account the time it would take to do this on a new model anyway using the Align system the Vbar is just as simple and quick to do.

I agree, I just didnt realize you could adjust a V-bar from the transmitter. Everything I have read so far said that it had to be with a control panel or computer.

Anyway, I am curious as to what the testing shows between the units from people who already fly v-bar as it seems to be the system all others are compared to.

Just one question,

How much lower is the new headblock compared to the flybared one?
It looks lower....

OK I'm a FBL n00b.
How do you go about the initial "trimming" for the Align FBL?
How is the cyclic response? (ie: paddle weight)
Is there any noticeable lag?

This system looks nice & simple, plug & play.
Even if it only flies as well as a flybarred T700 I'll be happy for a cleaner looking rotor head & less weight.
I have one on it's way (pre-order)

I've emailed Budd from QuickUK asking if he will be doing new main blade grip standoffs for this system.

well, if that's the case there'll be a lightly used Align FBL unit (minus 700 head) in the classifieds pretty soon.

fingers crossed that's not the case. my 500 needs FBL, too.

if it ain't broke, break it.

What I meant was any improvement to flight characteristics is a bonus. The 700 flies nice in standard form.

I'm sure the FBL system will
be great!

Less drag, more power, less weight.

No doubt it will fly better & feel more locked in.
I was simply making a point.

I want flight reports from "Joe the Hobbyist" Not from sponsored pilots. I want to know who has drift issues and can it be sorted out with out reinventing the wheel. When people start talking about that, then I will get excited. I like the concept. I like the head too. I do wish they would have lowered the main mast though...
