A little over-kill. But it should work just fine. Might have to get creative with the wiring, though

Hell... I can fix that.
Uh oh..

just checked..minimum input votage is 5v...i wonder if i should jsut run it on the postive lead of the servo only?? well unless a 9257 tail servi will work on 6v then i might not even have to use it!

I wouldn't put 6V to a 9257. that's not a good idea. ask me how I know

My 500 is equiped with 6V cyclic servos. I didn't have a stepdown handy, so I ran it on 6V. I mean, c'mon. it's a 4.8V servo. It should be able to handle 6V... For about 3 minutes...

Hell... I can fix that.

What voltage are you regulating down FROM?

FWIW -- the 9254 servo is also a tail servo rated for 4.8 volts, not 6. The Futaba folk stated in an email (when I asked) that the maximum operating voltage for the 9254 was 5.8 volts. I would believe it's safe to assume that if a Futaba servo is NOT spec'ed for 6.0 volt operation, then 5.8V is the max you should subject it to.
