Flybar is easy. Any 4mm flybar fits, length to suit.

Post a pic of the holder you needand/or a part #. I think I found one.

Thanks guys!
Dr. Ben, the tail boom holder is plastic, part no. 0404-650
Mine is the shaft drive version.
Would you know by any chance if this heli can be converted to electric? Thanks.

So much cleaner than fuel. With the transformation from fuel to electric counting the battery are you guys coming up with any significant weight difference?

The heli showed weights 5kg complete without canopy and blades.
I run separate 2s A123 battery for receiver and 2 x 6s 5000 Outrage NRG.

Thanks again guys. I think I'm going to move forward with the conversion to electric. Even after 10 years the Eagle2 is still a superior heli in comparison to much of the current 700 class electrics. Luixitoyo, who makes your motor mount?
I'm so excited that this heli will fly again. My club only allows electric so this heli has been sitting unrepaired for a long time.

Mike,

You pick up about 1.5 pounds or so................and about 50-75% more potential hp.

Dr. Ben,
This is the setup I'm going to proceed per your other thread:
12S, 10T pinion, Scorpion 500kv 6mm shaft, CC85HV. Main gear is 95T.
Thanks.

WOW thats a ton of HP! Fred is excited, go Fred! Nice to see another classic Hirobo coming back to life. 10+> year old models and they still look and fly state of the art. 50% hp increase, that is awesome. Ben I can't wait to see your bird and see it fly.

Fred,

Have you purchased your ESC yet?

Unlike my Eagle which won't allow to pinion support, your mechanics will. I'll send you the email addy for the man in Germany (Ruediger Feil) from whom you can order an adapter and thus be able to use a stock Hirobo 10t pinion for a trouble free driveline.

Yes Mike, Hirobo is simply the best heli out there.
Dr. Ben, I've got the ESC already from my old Trex.
Do you have good experience using CC?
So the stock Hirobo pinion is 6mm? If you PM me the contact info that would be great. Thanks.

Finally done!! Hovered it and it didn't fall apart.
Hovered around 1700 rpm and forward flight at 2000 rpm.
My old CC 80HV didn't blow up so I was very relieved.
I only flew it for a little bit more than 5 min and didn't have enough packs for a second flight because HK is out of stock on all 6s lipos. I'll post pictures tomorrow. Overall very pleased that this old heli is flying again w/ lipos. Thank you Dr. Ben for all your helps!! The SSR-VII head is holding up ok, even in breezy day like today.

Since the shaft drive is a very old design, the tail blades stop spinning once the motor stops even though the main blades is still spinning. Is this normal?

no it's not, and I would now suspect that your one way in the auto hub is broken. If it's the old unit you'll have to replace it with the Eagle 3 version or the sprag version to make it bullet proof.

Its normal with your helicopter so you dont have dtds, only one crown.
Look to my model, I made the dtds conversion.
If you have any questions pm me.

oh, is he using the slipper clutch?

but I can't see that making any sense, if your head is still spinning but your tail is not and your clutch is not there is something seriously wrong going on.

people are breaking the old auto hubs with 90 sized engines, I'm sure the electrics with more HP are going to see failures more likely.
