After watching that movie, all I could think about was flying one of those gunships. Any body working on one yet?????

Christmas was VERY good! I got a little MSR to annoy everyone with. The Sea King is currently on hold. I actually think I'm going to get a UH-1 fuselage for the T-rex and practice of it before going on to the SK.

There's a couple of threads on RCG about building the 'heli' from Avatar, and apparently there's an outfit that has mechanics out that might just work (expensive though).

To me, the fuselage shape reminds me of a Lynx...

It would definitely be a cool RC project... would love to find some 3-views...

This book should have some cool pics, also the design has twin coax rotors in both ducts so makes it a little more complicated.

My first thought was a chopped up cobra. I'm sure someone will come out with one. If people can come up with RC Tie fighters and Millenium Falcon, I'm sure this can be done also.

there is a guy thats made electric micro versions of this a few years ago and can probably be found on google.. scale one up and you could probably get a more scale fuse on it to match the movie...

Simply take a V-22 Osprey & put rings around the props and there you go!

Except that the props are much smaller diameter, and there are no engine nacelles...

Damn, Avatar is getting old if this thread is out of date! At least there'll be 2 sequels in 2014 & 2015.
