Hello All,

I'm a bit confused here. I got a TRex 450 and to get it running fast I got myself a cheap ESC (Turnigy 40A Plush ESC). Now the tricky part is how do I power my receiver (AR7100R)? On my old Pantera I used the Battery input plug, but since this ESC power the receiver through the throttle channel I'm confused. Seems to me that the AR7100R cannot get input power from the throttle channel. At least I haven't found anywhere if it can be done without damaging the receiver.

Does anybody has a similar setup? And, How did you power your AR7100?

Just plug the esc into the throttle channel. You can plug a battery into any port.

7100R seems a bit over kill for a Trex, why not try a 6200

I would guess that the regulated throttle output would not work.
Try the unregulated throttle output, it may power up the Rx.

I would NOT use a 7100r in a Trex 450. Rather get a 6100e or something like that.

just for interest sake... why not use a 7100 or 7100R? why use something smaller? space and weight an issue? I know one doesn´t need all the features of the 7100 but why not?

The Rx is designed to be powered through the power input and not through an esc.
