This might be a silly questions but I dont know the answer so I have to ask it here.

If I use a 7.4V Lipo Rx Pack to power my Rx, can I just use a Step-Down Regulator (align 5.1v step down regulator) connected in between the battery and the on-off switch, or do you have to use a proper voltage regulator, like the Duralite, and Arizona regulators?

Thanks Curtis

your stepdown has a rating that it can deliver in amps. If you exeed it, the thing won't last long.

Those device are done to feed one thing at a time, like a step down from the rx to the gyro.

You could use a regulator or take a look at the Spektrum AR7000 which does both at the same time
