Ok, most of you who are my friends know I am a Pink Floyd fanatic. So I have been reserving judgement on The Flaming Lips / Henry Rollins reboot of Dark Side of the Moon. Which I need to add the Pink Floyd original is IMO greatest album of all time. I finally got a chance to listen to it all the way through and I must say I am impressed. It's clear they really understand the core themes of the album. I'm also glad they understand that the entire album is a complete work and not a collection of songs. I really enjoyed this treatment on my favorite album, but I urge anyone thinking of listening, to listen to the Pink Floyd album first, if they haven't already done so. Well done to The Flaming Lips.

Did it pass the Wizard of Oz test?

Are you familiar with "Dub Side of the Moon"?
Its Dark Side of the Moon done Reggae. It's true to Dark Side of the Moon. I like it almost as much as the original.

"Dub Side" passed the Wizard of Oz test with flying colors.

edit: I think I answered my own question. I'm listening to Flaming Lips DSOTM now. The answer is NO! Not even close.

edit edit: "On the Run" is way cool. Best track on the album

Where can I find it? I looked on youtube and I only found live versions of a couple of songs and the sound qualiity isn't that great.

And Dub side is awesome. Been meaning to pick that one up for a couple of years now.

Annoying the world one person at a time

I know iTunes has it for $8.
I'm sure most major retail stores that sell music should have it.

It's brand new, just released about a week ago.

Boy, I remember getting jacked up on dangerous, illegal street narcotics and listening to "Dark Side of the Moon" for the first time. Good times...
