The second pic (MODE 2) is the one you want. And battery 2 needs to be a 1.5 volt batt

Hell... I can fix that.

Why not do away with the 2nd battery and the bec and just solder a regulator inline to control voltage in and out ?

I'm assuming the + in and out is just a loop and the power from the rx triggers the switch .

Anyone know the current draw values for a glow plug ?

I'm thinking for under 10 bucks a person can make an onboard glow driver .

I would think a Glow plug could draw as much as 3 Amps, at 1.5 Volts

Hell... I can fix that.

I'm thinking a 7.4v lipo on the input side regulated down to 1.5 on the output side should hold plenty of current against the plug once you start putting the fuel to the plug .

An LM338 voltage reg, and the Turnigy switch..

You should be good to go. Just remember to turn it off after the engine is running.

If you do not need it to be r/c, you can make an on-board glow heater really easily. I made one that powers off of my 6V receiver pack.

Does the align 2/1 do the same thing? I guess it has a button, but after that is that as easy?
Yes, it's that easy.

Push the button, you get 15 seconds of juice to the glow plug. Start your motor, go fly.
