I can't get Maniac 550's any more which is a serious bummer. They are excellent. So now I'm flying the Rotortech's which I used to like before the Maniacs, but they seem sluggish now by comparison.

So what do you guys like in a quick, high quality well matched set of blades? (and where you get them please.)

Thanks,
Tom

I have tried NHPs and Red Devils on my Logo and both are quicker with more pop than my 550 Rotortechs.

Blades for the Logo 500

Tday,

Another option coming available in January is the new Edge 553 Flybarless Blades. These blades are targeted directly at the Logo 500, but will be super blades for any similar sized heli.

Kyle just last week finished some intense prototype testing of several different versions of the blade, and when the dust cleared and the batteries cooled off, we had a clear winner.

Edge provided us versions of the blade that ranged from so fast in cyclic that it made Kyle's head spin, to versions that required the V-Bar's "agility" setting to set very high (too high), for decent 3D capability.

In the end Kyle selected the blades with the best balance of cyclic authority, fast forward flight stability and tracking, collective pop and autorotation capability.

You said you though the Rotortech 550's were too sluggish. Kyle has in the past run RT 550's, and what are now going to be the new Edge 553's, are definitely more active than the RT's, but also blend the other qualities we're all looking for in a blade.

Something to consider ,

Dave Dahl

Glad to hear that the Edge 550s are coming soon! I've been bugging ReadyHeli about them since October

Thanks guys. I'm going to try the SAB red devils for the heck of it while waiting on the Edge's.

I found the rt 560's to be much more aggressive than the maniacs and the "red devils".

Pardon my ignorance, but what is a rt560? Is that a rotortech 560? That's not a listed blade on ReadyHeli. So I don't know where they're purchased either. Anyway, I couldn't decode.

Thanks,
Tom

No myth. They really exist. But they still have that awful yellow color scheme .

Yup, ugly as heck.
But they rip like no other on the 500.
Much more aggressive than rotortech's 550mm blade.

LOL, the 560s are no myth but are sometimes hard to find. Never been sure why only some of the RT dealers carry them. Anyway if your looking for a set try XXX models. To date these have been my favorite blades on the 500.

Personally though I can't wait to try out a set of the Edge 553s. I've been wishing for these since the 603s came out last summer.

Great news to hear, I wanted Edge blades for my Logo 500 but was disappointed when I saw that they didn't do the 550mm size.

Why do they always vary by a few mm's .

You are right they have them in stock but it won't let you post the name of Bobby Smith's website here. If you don't know his site PM me with your email address and I'll send you the link. Good guy to deal with.

Got the Gohbee's up in the air today and they are very nice and only $70! Pretty darn light blade versus the rt550's at 105.5g versus 116g and as you mentioned stiff. I really liked how they handled and it's pretty easy to swing this blade...very nice pop all around. Thanks for the tips.
