Looks like a torx with a raised center. Torx are easy to come by, however the raised pin in the middles is to keep you from being able to find a tool. I usually see if I can grind out the center with a pointed dremel bit and then a torx driver of the right size should work.

Otherwise, I would take a cutoff wheel and cut a slot in the head for use with a regular screw driver.

Good luck.

Wait..what!?!?! No, that can't be!

Those little tips bust right off with the proper amount of leverage and a flat screwdriver. Then just use a torx.

I believe the common term is safety torx (or tamper-proof torx). I have heard of people breaking off the post as mentioned above, but have never tried it myself. I think I picked up my bits at the local auto parts store.

Yep,thats a torx.If you need to unscrew it you can find a set of star sockets at any parts store.Just tell them you need a star socket set (torx) with the hole in the middle. Most auto parts have no ideal what a torx bit is so make sure you ask for the star sockets that have the hole..

Ha ha, you got that right. I needed one to take off a brake caliper and they gave me a deep well socket. I had to take one off the shelf and show him what it was. Only reason I asked him in the first place is I had him look it up on his computer because I didn't know the size.

Been down that road even at my buddies HS, while back need it some parts for "The Mistress" (my 600N) and he just hired a kid that was clueless about helis; to make a long story short; the kid was scared that he will get in trouble with the boss if I go behind the counter! his face was "priceless" when I got my cell phone out and called "the boss" and told him that I was at the store and was gonna go in the back to get what I need it! (He has the security video system that he can log in from anywhere and see the HS from his laptop)

But thanks again guys for the help, I think Im going with 2LTime tip!
