Is anybody using the muffler, that comes with the Zenoah engine?
I plan to try it for the start. However I am not sure whether I can use a small silicontube of the kind you use with the methanoler. Or is it getting too hot?

you wont have a line that goes to muffler on gas machine. You will need tygon for your fuel and vent lines though. Stock will work, probably less power and louder.

I have seen, that the exhaust gas of the stock muffler goes directly towards the fueltank or at least pretty close. So I just want to redirect it a little bit more to the open side. And I thaught for that I can use the silicontubes which are very often used on the mufflers on the nitroengines.

Okay, you are talking about diverters. And you are correct, the one made for nitro would never hold up to heat. Probably need to go to an auto supply store and see what size high temp hose they have

Gasoline will disintergrade silicone within minutes. I once erroneously used a silicone tube in the gasser and witnessed this happened.

I've flown mine for the first time with the stock muffler. It's a noisy little bar steward! Is the Century pipe quieter?

Mufflers

The quietest muffler so far is the zimmerman side mount for the Radikal. The Century muffler is louder and more "tinny" sounding, but also weights 3oz lighter than the zimmerman and may provide more power at the top end I haven't tested for that to answer for sure.

I've got pictures of the side mount zimmerman in my gallery. You can get those from rcmarket over in europe, or just get the Century one its definately an improvement over the box stock muffler, which is the lightest of them all.

Thanks

On the zimmerman

The latest version that you see in my gallery is either side version.
The one on my Spectra in my gallery is a left hand version.
The right hand version of that is 110mm from front to header, the left is 70mm.
