Hi,

I'm just setting up a T-Rex 250 with a Spektrum AR6100 receiver on a JR PCM 9XII transmitter with a Spektrum module. The problem I have is trying to allocate the gyro gain to the Gear (channel 5) on the receiver. You don't seem to be able to change the gain in the Tx from AUX2 (channel 7). At the moment I am adjusting the gain using the gear servo travel adjustment but that's not the way I want to do it. Does anyone know how to allocate the rudder D/R to the gear channel ?

Cheers

Hey.

It's in the setup menu of the transmitter, "Device Select" that you can assign a switch to a particular function. In you case change the rudder dual rate switch or the gear switch to operate gyro gain.

Start as you would go to change model memories, press and hold the scroll wheel or menu button and turn on the transmitter, now scroll across to "DeviceSel" and press the scroll wheel.
I cant tell you exactly as I sold my 9XII and now have a DSX12, but within this device select menu you can scroll across to the various switches and change their assignment.
Only thing you might have to do is disable the gyro control on the Aux4 switch in order to move it to the gear.

Ian,

Thanks for the reply, but I have already tried all these options. I have allocated the gear to the rudder D/R switch, but the output can't be mapped from AUX2. All other options are INH so all things should be possible. If I go into monitor or put a servo in the gain channel it only works at 100%. The only way to adjust gain on channel 5 (gear) with this transmitter is on servo travel.....

Hi Dave,

I'm just going through my DSX12 now on a new model memory to see what I can do this end.

It appears I can set my AUX2 switch to become the gyro gain controller and I can also do the same with the GEAR switch, by changing its assigment in the DeviceSel page.

The next thing to try is to inhibit the AUX2 gyro designation in the DeviceSel screen, then scroll back to the GEAR and select it to operate GYR.
Now, in the gyro gain menu page you have two options from memory here either AUX2 or GEAR switch operation, as you want it on GEAR change it to this.

In the past, when trying to map certain switches to certain functions, the main hiccups have been when the current switch controlling a function you want to move is not inhibited. The latter then allows (or free's) the function (gyuro gain in this case) to be allocated to another switch.

Failing this, the other option is to use a programmable mix, but I am sure it's something simple that's being missed which is not allowing you to move the gyro gain.

Ian,

Thanks for trying, but I can't get any joy. The DSX12 is quite a bit different and I have one here. With ther DSX9 / PCM9X you can re-assign different switches but not the channel, or so it appears. No matter what you do in device select, the gyro once activated in it's own menu, maps to AUX2. So when I look in the servo monitor, when Rudder D/R is toggles, channel 5 moves as per servo travels and AUX2 moves as per gyro gain settings off the same switch.

Go into channel 5 and set the travel adjust to 0 on both end. This will give you a flat line regardless of the channel 5 switch position.

Now program mix channel 7 to channel 5 100%.

Hi Dave.

If we were closer I'd say we'd look at it together. As you say the DSX12's system settings are a little more tailorable.

In any case to save you anymore grief why nor just use the ATV of the gear channel to control the gain, with the gain lead plugged into channel 5. Will do the same just without the 0~100 gain figures, this is what I do with my models to use gear.

Hi Dave I'm having the exact same problem. Just finished building my T-rex 250 SE with a Spektrum AR6110e and JR DSX9.
I just found this on Youtube. Still trying to get my head around it. Let me know if you sort it out for the 250.
