I just put a new QuickUK swash on my Freya and also a new Futaba 2.4Ghz receiver. Everything is perfectly lined up at half stick/0 degrees pitch. Mixing arms, pitch servo, arms, etc. Links are all about what the manual for length. This is an all metal, except blade grips, FFZ-III, HPM head.

With the end points set at 100/-100 my pitch goes from about -13 to +10, 0 in the middle. In the manual it says to set the low end point to 80% and the high end to 100%.

To actually get +10/-10 I have the lower end point at 70%.

So does this sound about right.

Thanks.

Either the collective arm is not level
or your main grip pitch links need to be longer

Ideally you want your low & high end points to be similar values
(sub trim can screw this up however)

Thanks, Jafa.

My subtrim is at -25. As far as I can tell my collective arm is level, it is tough to tell as you only have the three screws to go by. The main blade links (short ones on the grips) are less than the manual states, 1.5mm link showing instead of 2.5. But if I adjust those then I'm no longer at 0 pitch at 1/2 stick.

Spent a couple of hours trying to adjust it yesterday with my new radio. I'll take a fresh look at it again today. My EVO 50 HPM is perfect, same max pitch travel in both directions so I figured there was something amiss but wanted to get a second opinion before driving myself crazy with it.

To check for a level pitch arm:
If you lye a steel ruler flat on the main gear
you can use that as a measuring base
Sit a second small ruler vertically on the 1st ruler
Measure up to the bolt in the middle of the X level
32~34mm from memory
Then check the distance to the middle of the bolt in the aileron lever

You may not get perfectly identical + & - pitch
but it should be close

Thanks for the tip on how to measure that. Just checked it and mine is off a little. Now to redo the rest of links as the mixing arms are now off. So I'll go through everything. Your memory is pretty good though, mine is about 35mm.

Thanks again for the help and I'll let you know.

Jafa,

I started at the servo and went up rechecking everything. Adjusted the pitch arm link per your instructions to get it level and the long and short blade links by the time I was done. Now with 0 pitch at center stick I have +/- 11 degrees of pitch. The servo end points are at +100%/-80% now as the manual states for a Futaba radio.

Sound good?

Here's an update. As I mentioned this is a new 2.4 Radio, a Futaba 10C (replacing my JR9303 72Mhz). I was just going through more of the menus and discovered that the side slide switches were enabled and one was set to adjust the pitch. So I was not getting full positive pitch because the switch was not fully up. I have disabled the slide switches and now get full 100% positive and negative pitch with stick movement.

So after going through all the adjustments earlier and disabling the switches and setting the End Point Travel for both at 80% I am getting between +/-11 and +/-12 degrees of pitch with a 0-100% pitch curve.

Thanks again Jafa.
