Hello,

I have a Swift 16 with the following config:

550 mm blades
Century Sport motor
4S Lipo
Castle Creations Phoenix 60 Amp ESC
4.8 volt 2500 Mah NIMH pack for receiver and servos
Helicommand
Standard servos on cyclic
9254 ruder servo.

I want to upgrade the motor, because i'm lifting my underslug camera rig and i feel that i need more power.

The camera rig is about 1.2 kg.

I don't fly 3D and i'll never do.
It's only for sport flying and AP.

What is the best (and cheap) configuration to get long flight times?

I want to use LiPo's between 4s and 6s

Thanks.

Víctor

Motor

I'm running the Century Z30a on 6s in my swift 550 carbon seems to have good power and runs cool. Also using the Century 80/90 ESC with it. Im using 530mm Blades though need to get some 550s but I do not think I would loose much power.

A Scorpion HK4025-1100 would be the best. It has more power and larger bearings than Century or Z-Power motors. I now use Scorpion on all my helicopters and they are fantastic.

I would get a Z30A-1100. They run cool, can be used for 4-6S packs with a pinion change. I have hundreds of flights on them. I tried a Scorpion 4020-1100. It ran hot and cut flight time by minutes. Very power hungry. I traded it for a canopy.

Yeah the 1100kv is what I have thanks for filling in the blanks Greybird I forgot an important spec there. Ive heard good and bad about the Scorpions that's why I went with the Century motor. Still might try a Scorpion in the future so I can provide some feedback on them.

I use scorpions and century motors, both good, but the century more effecient, runs cooler, longer flight times, the century 650a motor's are awesome, atleast as powerfull as the scorpion 4025 series and much more effecient.the 800kv 650a on 6s would be a great setup. this is what my swift nx is getting, when they become available.the scorpions advantage is a wider range of motors available for every application.and they are cheap, witch is why the bearings wear out all the time.IMO.

Century heli rep. To much power is never enough.
