I'm getting 1522 on the neutral TR screen of the G-View. The manual says to check you trims and sub-trims if more than 20 above or below 1500...everything is neutral. The only way I can get the 1522 to change is to move the trim or sub trim off center. Should I use the trim to get the neutral TR closer to 1500? I'm using a 9256 servo that just came back from service...not that it means much! Thanks!

Your radio, esp the rudder channel, is probably a bit out of calibration if it has not been serviced for a while. I would use the subtrim to reset the true electronic center. Some gyros are pretty picky about this.

Check the other channels with the G view while you're there. You might be surprised how far things have drifted from true center.

Thats too bad if thats the case as its a month old Futaba 8FG radio. This is on an EVO 50 but it make me wonder about my 700 now. It has a slow nose left drift in backward fight. I just installed another Mini G gyro on it but without a G-Veiw. Its slow but constant, like a very small stick input. Now I need to hook up the G view to the 700 and check it out...thanks for the help!

It is normal on Futaba radios for the signal value to be out of the allowed range. Mine was 1527 i believe...but it works just fine on my Beam E4 and trex 700.

You should look elsewhere such as your choice of mounting foam, or even minor mechanical issues such as notchy bearings.

i would leave it and not subtrim it, i have a couple models that are in that range and they fly fine.

I'm going to revisit this tonight. My MZ has just been recalibrated and is dead nuts perfect. I'll check what the output signal is. I have this memory that center on a Futaba radio is 1.52 for some reason. I'll let you know.

No hurry on anything as it will be a couple weeks before I can make it back out. I'm using standard servo tape, 2 ply below and one above the metal plate. Would you add a layer above or below the metal plate or change tapes? Thanks for the help guys

The BEST person to ask would be Nick Maxwell. Email him (not pm) via his RR account and ask him his suggested set up. No one in the world, including Curtis himself, has more time on that gyro. No one.

make sure you are using the actual mini g tape. it is a lot softer and the mini g does not like any vibration. its one of the easiest gyros to setup just follow the manual.

You will probably need some sub trim to keep it from drifting. I have one that was used with a 9303 trans and it drifted, nothing i did helped it.It is also temperature sensative and changes with the temp.I bought a new 12x and it still drifts with no sub trim. Not real happy with it,my Solid g's never had that problem.
