Hi there !!

My wife has just bought me a kontronik jive 100lv which I plan to put in a logo 500 with a scorpion 4020 1100, 15 tooth pinion.

Can you give me any pointers as to what size of bullet connectors are used for the battery and motor connections as the wires on this controller are pretty hefty.
Also I have searched but can't find any real info on how to programme the controller, are there any "how to threads" on the subject.

Thanks

Good luck

ec5 works good. u should not get smaller then that

u do not need to program the jive. only set mode 4 for constant ish flight times or mode 11 for constant rpm, setting up mode 11 the first spoolup will be the master so make sure u have a full battery .then mode 9 for lipo
it could be good to adjust the throttle endpoints in the radio as well if u want to read correct throttle%

i started with nothing and still got most of it left

Jive 100iv

Well first of all i think you should put s heatsink on it just in case. For the set up you should go to Helifreaks webbpage and click at electric helikopters there you find all the setup for the jive and also trottel calibration.

Kontronik 100LV

I have this on my Outrage550 right now. Awsome ESC. Best GOV.

If you want the smallest connectors you can run 4mm but I would recommend 5.5mm or 6mm. I have 4mm on mine right now but plan to change to 5.5mm as the LHS did not have anything bigger then 4mm.

Programing is straight forward in the booklet; Mode 11.

I only need one!

EC5 connectors for sure, work a treat indeed!

...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

I would suggest 5.5mm especially if your buying your packs from HobbyKing as the 6S Turnigy packs come fitted with 5.5mm as standard.
I swapped all my packs over from Deans, and it is sooooo much easier to solder than the deans.

Are ec5 connectors basically 4mm bullet connectors ? If so I doubt that the wires from the speed control will actually fit the bucket at the rear of the connector, Are you shaving down the wire size to fit or have I got the wrong size connector in mind.

Good luck

from my under standing the EC5 are 5mm connectors. in my previous post I assumed you were talking about the motor wires which the smallest you can go is 4mm. the battery wires I would go with 6.5mm.

I only need one!

Thanks for all your help, I have a better understanding of the connectors and sizes now.

I think I will go for 4mm on the motor side and 5.5mm or bigger on the battery side.

Thanks again

Good luck

no they are 5mm, good for at least constant 120amp and u can fit a monster cable in there

i used 6,5mm bullets before but have changed everything to ec5

feels a bit more safe

i started with nothing and still got most of it left
