Ok fixit i just thought about it and the gforce mount wont work because the gas motor is fixed and not able to move so therefore you cant adjust the pinion with this mount block. but im still gonna get an aluminum mount. please tell me if i missed something.

i just ordered the align aluminum replacement just to see if it works good which i think it will and if it doesnt ill go with the mircoheli version

http://www.fad-heli.com has another option for the adjustable clutch block as well as some pretty beefy CNC black delrin main gears.

Site is closed until Jan 4th.

Here in Hawaii, it might make a good Shave Ice Machine. (Snow Cones)

The Align upgrade will do fine but the aftermarket gears don’t always mesh perfect and with the extra torgue from a gasser you could still strip the main gear.
Plus if Ali offers a Ratio change in the future your going to need adjustment anyway.

I understand about the adjustment. I just dont understand how you could adjust the mesh since the engine is fixed to the frame not allowing any movement. If i missed something please let me know

I don't think there's any reason why you can't slot out the holes in the bottom plate a bit, it doesn't take much.

You would also have to slot the top mount plate but I think Ali will offer the kit to match the gears ordered but having the choice of different Ratios would be nice.

Gill P
Your right the engine is fixed but you can still move the pinion very slightly either way to get a better mesh if needed or send the main gear back for a replacement if it’s not round

The top plate can be made adjustable. File material from the sides of the locators that fit in the frames and use regular 3mm SHCS with washers and the top plate, along with the HN7084 Trex 700 Front Frame Mounts will slide.

Ok so my engine came in today. Im so happy. So the next thing I did was to remove the stock Zenoah clutch and the 2 bolts which are 14mm. You need to hold the engine with some method of your choosing. i held it by one of the cooling fins which i dont recommend unless you are super careful. I broke plenty cooling fins like this in my day.

Next I worked on getting the hub off which was kind of a P.I.T.A. I highly recommend using a puller. i dont see how you could get it off otherwise, it was on there.

Next I took the 4 bolts holding on the clutch housing from the motor. No problem taking off those. Then I mounted the top engine support plate.

After that I mounted the clutch support and clutch. I just held the engine from turning over and screwed the clutch mount down as much as I could. Mounting the clutch is a piece of cake just like in the picture.

Lastly I mounted the engine on the landing skid plate.

More to come so stay tuned.
Dont forget the loctite

Did you put any flats on the clutch shoe? I also ground the nipple off the grub screw for more contact area.
You will also need to flip the throttle arm so it faces the servo.
