I think it will take awhile until Hitec gets up to speed with a large assortment of receivers, but the transmitter looks great.

I agree. The transmitter looks great and the programming seems intuitive at least for me. Feature set is fantastic. But availability of telemetry and receivers is limited at the moment. I think this will change - my suspicion is the reception to the system is so good it has sold out. Time to ramp up manufacturing!!

Hitec Aurora, Spectra Pro Module & Optima RX 2.4GHz FAQ

quote "the sensor will not be out untell feb"

Also proving popular is the Spectra Pro/Optima RX Combo for those who do not wish to spend much and simply upgrade their existing Hitec or Futaba Transmitters that use the same Futaba/Hitec module shape/size/pin slots. e.g.:
5UAF, 5UAP
7UAF,7UAFS, 7UAP,7UAPS, 7UHF,7UHFS, 7UHP,7UHPS
8UAF, 8UAFS, 8UAP, 8UAPS, 8UHF,8UHFS,8UHP, 8UHPS
(8FGA, 8FGH as non-module radios can not be accomodated).
9CA, 9CH, 9CAPS, 9CAFS, 9CHPS, 9CHFS
10CH, 10CA (10CAG or 10CHG as non-module radios can not be accomodated).
These can also use the telemtry including Google earth for tracking models via laptop etc

I have not put my aurora in anything yet, but playing with the radio I really like the features a lot better than my X9303. The radio has a good feel to it, and I think bang for the buck you can't beat this radio IMO. I see JR has come out with a new 9503, still more expensive, and still not the features of this one. I think Hitec has a winner. My question is I know there is a firmware upgrade coming down the line for a cyclic ring, but for now does any of the other cyclic rings fit this radio?

I have had mine since about two weeks before IRCHA. And my dad just got one and is most likely going to sell his 12x. The Hitec A9 is so easy to program and is just as powerful if not more powerful then the 12x.

None known to be currently available on line.
Meantime whilst waiting for the firmware update which should not be to far away, the following pictorials may assist those wishing to DIY or have some made.

This might have been already answered but can'y find it. I read in the Hitec site on the features that "AFHSS 2.4GHz / PPM / PCM Compatible" Does this mean that I can use either a 2.4 Rx or a PCM Rx with only a click of a botton? or program??

My appologies for the ignorance!!! LOL

Mmmmmm... I dun know!!!!!

I'm pretty sure you have to swap the module on the back between the 72Mhz and 2.4Ghz. Nice feature of this radio. If course there are many radios that can do this.

Yes that is correct you have to change the module out for 72. The 72 module is not out yet. You have to use the new one that is coming out cause the A9 has a couple of extra pins compared to the other transmitters.

Like a poormans 14mz. LOL!

Might buy one after its been out for a while and widely used to

eliminate any chance of costly surprises."

14mz shows reciever voltage on the TX?
