Is there a step down need when using a regulator(Align RCE-B6T)?
This reg puts out 5.8 Volts.
Thanks

The gyro will take 6 volts. Your servo may need a step down.

It is the stock servo that is 4.8v only. I think you would be safe running it on 5.1 regulated, but... you are pushing six volts. It may work or it may burn. The question is, "What is your pain threshold?"

On the other hand, you can get this gyro to take wide pulse servos, thus making it compatible with other servos, some of which will run on six volts.

Yes-its the stock servo.
I know it "may" burn out but i shouldn't be pushing it too hard.
I was mainly interested inwhat others are doing/using.
Thanks

Use a step down between the gyro and servo, about $5or$6. All the narrow pulse servos aren't cheap.

You're actually good up to 5.4 or so regulated, anything higher than that, slap a step down on it.

4.8v rating means a fully charged 4 cell battery.

i think you should atleast buy a gyro made in the late 90's early 2000's...vintage **** isnt "in style" in the heli world like the clothing market!! HA-HA-HA

The only down fall to that plan is if you buy a new gyro ill get stuck putting it on and setting it up...damn...

dude..wheres my heli?????ama#902014
