Buyers Of All The World Learn A Dirty Secret
so that no internet shop will trick you....

About a month ago I ordered from Hobbycity or HobbyKing 2 LiPO batteries. The same time after payment I did another order also and bought also a LiPO TX battery.
The time difference was 2Hours.
If you try to Check Out the only two options are:
1. EMS Shippment
2. Registered Air Mail.
Three days ago (after 25 days of order I got the 2 LiPOs)
one of them was DEAD .One cell was 0.8Volts.
I tried to revive the battery but nothing at all.
I sent them email and although they were very polite this was their answer.(Regarding the fact that they already have collect 1200$ from me)

Read our Lithium Polymer Warranty page. However, we are sorry to advise you that we are not trained for technical support or technical recommendations.

In addition, please send item back with the cheapest way with tracking facility. The shipping address will be provided once RMA form has been completed.
So as you imagine the battery ended up in the garbage.

Appart from that when I got in my hands the first order I asked them
what about the second one?
They answered me that the item was sent By FLAT AIR MAIL (Impossible this option doesn't exist).
So imagine that I will get the battery in my hands on 30-34days and the warranty is also expired.
After 10 orders I had to ''taste the bitter side of the pie''.

Anyway thats my story and keep it to have it in mind just to ask all of us better behavior.
Of course I will keep ordering from the internet but...these facts
simply grow the inconvinience of uncertainty and get us back in the old days.

I took that as meaning 30 days after you receive the battery.
Hope the garbage man did not come yet...

Yes all explained in black and white and after all since I was asking about the second order and I told him about the battery from the first.
To be correct the voltage of the broken cell was 1.5V after the box.
And the answer was from the customers service department that also told me that they checked my order...
The rest is history....

What? you mean you have to ask for fresh ones? I think I would try to pursue it alittle further.

Their returns seem real shady and I've read the horror stories. I had good luck with some Rhinos and a couple 3S Zippy batts but I recently purchased 6 Turnigy batteries. One had a bad cell that would not fully charge and the rest puffed after 7-10 flights. Complete garbage. I will not be buying batteries from them again. These weren't the little 3S 2200s either. They were 4 6S 5000s and 2 6S 3000s. That is a lot of money in batteries and shipping down the tube. They lost me as a customer and I will continue to warn others about their garbage product and lack of any real practical warranty support.

HobbyKing and their policies

I was shipped an HK 500 with no tail rotor assembly. Who would have thought that they have a policy that the recipient must take pictures of the unopened package with the gram weight on the label, then open the package and take more pictures of the contents before they will even consider a replacement. When you get an order no one who has not been burned by these people would even think of taking photos of the unopened box, much less the contents. That apparently also means that you must open up each item and do a part count to know you are missing something. I had two HK 500s and did not get around to opening the second one until the first was up and flying. By then, the box and anything that could validate my claim was gone.
After much argumentative email, they finally agreed to include the tail rotor assembly in my next order. They will have a long wait for my next order!! I have a policy myself that states, "I will not deal with anyone regardless of price who will not take my word for the status or condition of my order either being damaged in shipping or missing items." I expect them to put it in the mail to me and not give me a hassle about it. I will not do business with people who assume you are trying to scam them!
They have no problem if you want to send them money. They are very happy to take your money and then apply their "policy", well, they can keep this up and apparently have so many customers world wide that it does not matter to them if they screw over a few people here and there.
Not me, not again.

I had an issue with a Turnigy Accucel-6. Upon receipt it wouldn't balance charge but all other functions worked properly. All it took was one email to get a RMA # and me sending it back. I communicated with the staff via the live chat to tell the problem and get return instructions. They were very polite and apologetic toward my issue.
It took a long time to get to HK and the round trip shipping fees were as much as the charger but they gave me a full store credit from my request minus the shipping fees. At first I was a little miffed about the whole deal because of the shipping fees involved with a return but after thinking it over it's like gambling to get the super cheap prices. Before resolving the problem I went on to order another charger and quite a few batteries of which all perform perfectly.

The batteries I got from them are about 1/2 the price of batteries from here of equal charge/discharge performance. I guess it's all in how much risk you're willing to take to get the batteries at these cheap price because if you do get a bad one it's just about a total loss even if they do replace it. The astronomical shipping fee is what really makes their product a decent bargain with risk and not a great bargain. I don't have my batteries long enough to tell if it was worth buying them. I'm at about 25 cycles on each but they still perform like the day they got here.....strong and powerful. So far it was well worth it to me to take the chance but I know that my next battery order could very well be the one that ends like yours and that will take ALL the fun out of it. I took the chances because I didn't want to learn electric heli basics using $100+ batteries in fear of screwing them up. Now that I know some of the handling and use techniques necessary to keep these batteries alive and well I probably wouldn't hesitate to buy quality batteries from here.

As for the shipping options it must depend what part of the world you're in. I have 3 or 4 options here during their check out. From past experience the express mail takes 4-5 days and the regular registered air mail takes 14 days to get here.

I have been still waiting my second order that I made the same day.
And I opened a case in Paypal. And told me to dissengage the amount.
So far I've made 12 orders and a total of 1400$.
To be honest after that amount when he asked me to give my hand and allow the money when I will get my stuff ,I answered him that the broken battery almost exploded so I had to cut the aluminum foil and tear the battery appart in 2 &1 cell.
I will send him if he wants the left overs and this time we are speaking I ordered stuff that costs 200$ (with EMS this time) and
it's his turn to show that he respects the customers and send a new battery.Because as a friend mentioned above its a matter of policy to be able to look straight in the eyes. After all 20$ of postage is 6 tanks of fuel.No one was saved by that small amount
