c'mon teo, if you are going to participate in the discussion please do so without hijacking the words of others. your post above is just a cut and paste of a post from dilberstein a while back, and I am sure he got it from somewhere else. it's quite a stretch to connect plate tectonics with global warming,

c'mon kop, if you are going to participate and accuse me of "hijacking" another person's words, at least find some courage and post a link to the post in question.

Volcanoes do have a VERY strong effect.

I saw a wonderful movie a number of years ago which demonstrated how fragile our ecosystem is.

There was a tribe called the Waponee who lived on a volcanic island. Every year they would sacrifice a beautiful virgin to appease the Volcano God. One year they substituted some skanky old bitch, the Volcano God was PISSED! Blew them all to heck.

So, pay your carbon taxes on time, sacrifice an occasional virgin and we will all get thru this impending doom.

I like the whole virgin thing

But THE IDIOCY required to admit pollution has no effect on the atmosphere is simply amazing.

The oceanographic researchers involved in GBR research actually posted a rebuke to the story claiming it was sensationalistic and un true.
No they did not.

Some non scientific political rhetoric was posted that made claims it could never substantiate

As long as you use crap non academic sources you don't get to the truth here, which is now fact.

Climate change, pollution, crown-of-thorns starfish and fishing are the primary threats to the health of this reef system. Other threats include shipping accidents, oil spills, and tropical cyclones.[57] Skeletal Eroding Band, a disease of bony corals caused by the protozoan Halofolliculina corallasia, affects 31 coral species.[58] According to a 2012 study by the National Academy of Science, since 1985, the Great Barrier Reef has lost more than half of its corals with two-thirds of the loss occurring from 1998 due to the factors listed before.[59]

My buddy has a cute but worthless teenage daughter, she just slouches on the couch, rolls her eyes once in a while and texts in all caps all day long. Volcano happy, my buddy happy... It's a total WIN WIN.

Who says it has no effect? I have been to China a few times. Can't stand pollution. This notion that anyone who does not jump off the cliff to "Save the Planet" is an idiot, while those preaching are standing a very safe distance from the cliff... not giving up a damned thing...the biggest preachers making bank off of it... constantly changing the story of how the earth will end... complete crap. Have to be a moron to fall for that.

Oceanographic institute are scientists goof.
The idiots that said what you quoted are not scientists they are activists and they lied and the institute caught them red handed and published an article exposing it, but you failed to quote it because you are picking the stories that fit your narratives only.

Climate-warming trends over the past century are extremely likely due to human activities.
So...in other words, we don't know and have no definitive proof.

Activist scientists and lobby groups have distorted surveys, maps and data to misrepresent the extent and impact of coral bleaching on the Great Barrier Reef, according to the chairman of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority, Russell Reichelt.

A full survey of the reef released yesterday by the authority and the Australian Institute of Marine Science said 75 per cent of the reef would escape unscathed.

Dr Reichelt said the vast bulk of bleaching damage was confined to the far northern section off Cape York, which had the best prospect of recovery due to the lack of onshore development and high water quality.

I meant a link to a peer review scientific journal. Otherwise, it is just biased, and many times baseless, opinions.

MPA,
Do you happen to have a link to the scientific journal backing up the information you keep quoting? If so, I will be very thankful if you can provide it. I have access to most non-open access scientific journals. Thus, I only need the corresponding link.
Thanks in advance
X
PS. This is some of the few times I agree with Outhouse, non-scientific sources or not highly internationally recognized journals are not credible sources.

Australian Institute of Marine Science

Is there something you will find in their research that they don't know about ?
Best of luck with that.

I just wanted to read the paper. Have you actually read the original report?
BTW, climate change is not my line of research. So, it would be very irresponsible of me to debate a topic I am not well acquainted with. I was just trying to get the link so I could read the manuscript and use it to get extra references. Is it safe to assume you don't have such link?
