It is pretty hard to actually look and research the evidence of global warming and not come away thinking that there has to be an natural environmental response to introducing massive amounts of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
It stakes a special kind of short bus blithering idiot to think all the pollution we put in the atmosphere does not have a negative effect.

Even the oil companies admit it, and there is a consensus of scientist that all agree.

Scientific understanding of global warming is increasing. The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) reported in 2014, that "It is extremely likely that human influence has been the dominant cause of the observed warming since the mid-20th century." [9] Human activities have led to carbon dioxide concentrations above levels not seen in hundreds of thousands of years. Currently, about half of the carbon dioxide released from the burning of fossil fuels remains in the atmosphere.

The probability that these changes could have occurred by chance is virtually zero.[36]

I've found Daily Mail UK to be a LOT more truthful in their reporting than the 'murican lamestream. Frankly, I don't trust the NOAA, NASA, IPCC or any other government supported, agenda driven organization.

There is most certainly NOT a consensus of "scientists" that agree on "Globull Warming". There IS considerable government/UN effort to silence alternative views.

You are confusing pollution in a local environment with global scale changes that are not occurring. The planet has been COOLING(!) since the mid 1990's as the Sun has dropped to a cyclic minimum.

The IPCC has been thoroughly discredited. Geez

The new libtard buzzword: DENIER. It's the new "racist" label that they will apply to you for not marching in lockstep. I heard it during the election and I've been hearing it more and more lately.

Global average temperatures have been tracked for decades by several agencies around the world. Must be one huge conspiracy then.

You have called out NASA to be an unreliable source.

https://www.nasa.gov/press-release/...record-globally

That is fine. What's your counter to show that Global cooling is happening. Show the data that you believe in.

For the record, I'm not arguing that humans have caused the warming, I'm arguing that the measured data shows gradual warming over time.

I have no idea what a "warming agent" is. carbon dioxide and methane are greenhouse gases, meaning that they reflect solar energy rather than allowing it to pass through. as for your comment about water vapor - water vapor is the result of evaporation, and evaporation is the result of ambient heat. hurricanes depend on water vapor for fuel...and certainly one of the concerns about warming temps is an increase in the number and strength of hurricanes.

believe what you want, for whatever reasons you might have, but if you are going to include facts in your argument, at least use real science, not the Kelly Anne Conway "alternatives".

As to my comment on water vapor, please check out this link:

https://www.nasa.gov/topics/earth/f...or_warming.html

Yes, it's from NASA, and I've already expressed my distrust of government agenda driven "scholarship". However, it does do a good job explaining what I referred to, and makes sense. The reader will note it doesn't "lay the blame" solely on human activity.

Koppter:

Hurricanes are fueled by warm water and low barometric pressure. Water vapor has nothing to do with it. Perhaps the cooler water in the tropics is why there have been NO major hurricanes make landfall in the US in over 10 years.

I'm sure Ms. Conway regrets her error...

Unfortunately, most of the "debate" regarding "The Religion of Globull Warming" has nothing to do with science. It's all about separating you from your hard earned money (assuming you have a job).

If you want to virtue signal to your lefty friends about how you're "saving the planet", well, good for you.., but the planet will still be here long after you're (and I, am) gone.

Life_Nerd, NOAA and NASA did not have a complete data set in producing the article you refer to. Please see:

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-...bal-warming-dat

I don't really blame NASA or NOAA for the bias, as the agenda was foisted on them by our former pResident. I does make it difficult to trust what they have to say though. Perhaps our new President will return these organizations to true, honest, science based study.

To all: You're right, my mind is made up, globull warming is a HOAX. It has been since day one. When I was in high school during the early '70's, Chicken Little was screaming "Global Cooling!!!" If they keep you afraid, it's a lot easier to rob you of your freedom and your money.

Don't be sheep. Think for yourselves.

And with that, I'm finished with this thread. To any who want to flame or insult, don't bother. I won't read it.

The last time CO2 levels were as high as today’s was about 3 million years ago.

Don't let facts stop the ignorance here

BS or dishonesty

So go ahead and provide a credible source that states different.

WAIT there is not one, only the one that states there is a 95% global scientific consensus.

DUDE the oil companies agree now.

No it has not.

It only shows how little you actually know about the debate.

When one only uses crap sources, one only posits crap.

Multiple studies published in peer-reviewed scientific journals1 show that 97 percent or more of actively publishing climate scientists agree: Climate-warming trends over the past century are extremely likely due to human activities. In addition, most of the leading scientific organizations worldwide have issued public statements endorsing this position.

SCIENCE ACADEMIES

International academies: Joint statement

"Climate change is real.

AMERICAN SCIENTIFIC SOCIETIES

Statement on climate change from 18 scientific associations

"Observations throughout the world make it clear that climate change is occurring, and rigorous scientific research demonstrates that the greenhouse gases emitted by human activities are the primary driver." (2009)

Everything man or mother nature does has an effect, chopping down trees, building millions of square miles of asphalt roads and parking lots, setting fires, stopping forest fires, farting, breathing, volcanoes, too many sunspots, not enough sunspots,,, but i doubt the dire predictions; flooding, ice age, wiping out of all human life? Maybe subconsciously i just don't mind if most of the fussy little humans that occupy this planet do freeze to death.

A couple friends occasionally stop by for movie night. They almost always want my house to be warmer in winter or cooler in summer. Really annoys me when they drive across town in a truck, fuss about my house temperature and then want to talk about global cooling or warming warm-cooling, or whatever it is now. They are far too concerned with what they imagine is going on in my head, and far too little concerned about what is actually going on in their own lives to be taken seriously.

Agreed.

Not really the OP's topic though. Oceans are rising though and we will/already see weather effects.

Never trusted the Gore type BS predictions. But conditions will only get worse from here.

Agreed.

It only takes a little study on this and that enough. Not much we can do except watch.

I debated it for a few weeks and read up data and contested data, and that was that.
