Scientific consensus

A question that frequently arises in popular discussion of climate change is whether there is a scientific consensus on climate change.[5] Several scientific organizations have explicitly used the term "consensus" in their statements:

American Association for the Advancement of Science
, 2006: "The conclusions in this statement reflect the scientific consensus represented by, for example, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, and the Joint National Academies' statement."[39]

US National Academy of Sciences: "In the judgment of most climate scientists, Earth's warming in recent decades has been caused primarily by human activities that have increased the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. ... On climate change, [the National Academies’ reports] have assessed consensus findings on the science..."[131]

Joint Science Academies' statement, 2005: "We recognise the international scientific consensus of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)."[132]

Joint Science Academies' statement, 2001: "The work of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) represents the consensus of the international scientific community on climate change science. We recognise IPCC as the world's most reliable source of information on climate change and its causes, and we endorse its method of achieving this consensus."[33]

American Meteorological Society, 2003: "The nature of science is such that there is rarely total agreement among scientists. Individual scientific statements and papers—the validity of some of which has yet to be assessed adequately—can be exploited in the policy debate and can leave the impression that the scientific community is sharply divided on issues where there is, in reality, a strong scientific consensus.... IPCC assessment reports are prepared at approximately five-year intervals by a large international group of experts who represent the broad range of expertise and perspectives relevant to the issues. The reports strive to reflect a consensus evaluation of the results of the full body of peer-reviewed research.... They provide an analysis of what is known and not known, the degree of consensus, and some indication of the degree of confidence that can be placed on the various statements and conclusions."[133]

Network of African Science Academies: "A consensus, based on current evidence, now exists within the global scientific community that human activities are the main source of climate change and that the burning of fossil fuels is largely responsible for driving this change."[36]

International Union for Quaternary Research, 2008: "INQUA recognizes the international scientific consensus of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)."[80]

Australian Coral Reef Society,[134] 2006: "There is almost total consensus among experts that the earth's climate is changing as a result of the build-up of greenhouse gases.... There is broad scientific consensus that coral reefs are heavily affected by the activities of man and there are significant global influences that can make reefs more vulnerable such as global warming...."[135]

the outhouse

Porsches are piles of crap.
The superior intellect of the outhouse offers that. Everyone knows that an outhouse is full of sh*t and has the odor to go with it.

Your superior intellect only lets you copy/paste from the same wiki multiple times throughout this thread? No ability to argue, discuss or debate with others in this thread? Only insults?

Very impressive superior intellect.

Based on " consensus " exactly
The Earth's atmosphere is composed of the following molecules: nitrogen (78%), oxygen (21%), argon (1%), and then trace amounts of carbon dioxide, neon, helium, methane, krypton, hydrogen, nitrous oxide, xenon, ozone, iodine, carbon monoxide, and ammonia. Lower altitudes also have quantities of water vapor.Dec 24, 2015
It's the less then 1% then it's the 1/12 trace amount that is going to destroy the world by warming it up,,,

% .080 Is a margin of error in anything

Copy and paste
Providing credible sources is factually the only way to properly research and report on what one is researching.

But you are so hypocritical only you copy and paste crap sources. Its all you know.

Not based on.

Based on observed facts they have reported on, the consensus agree with the actual true findings.

It means most educated people agree with the reports.

No one has supplied a credible argument against the peer reviewed reports op date. Every last one refuted in full.

and science says there has been no warming in 19 years
hummm,, that's something to think about, cause I slept with two windows wide open last night and strangely the heat didn't come on once all night, it was 60F at 8:30 AM today in Vt,

it wasn't that sunny today,, just saying, you know

hey Jim

If it makes you feel any better, I'm in Wisconsin right now on bidness. A blizzard blew through last night and dropped 4 inches of snow and 26° F.

It comes down to normal winter weather in WI, a state that voted for Trump vs VT a state that voted for the Beast. You have a lot of liberals near you expelling hot greenhouse gasses that tend to warm things up way too much. Probably an over abundant amount of outhouses spewing hot methane gas thru their half moons carved into the doors.

Get some friends together and go on a bug hunt for outhouses and bury them. Take back your rights as a citizen, a Vermontian, and demand your rights to have a normal winter again.

Have you purchased anything from RCAerodyne recently? I ask, because they have a spring sale going on right now.

. . .

Copy and paste? Ok

Do you think the figures are wrong??

Whats your say on the earth's atmosphere composition?

yes, i copy and paste it, do you think i want to write it down , then type into a ipad posting it here?

No matter what co2 is less then .05% of the atmosphere, and as much hydrocarbons that has been burned in the last 100 years and the multiplying population of humans, co2 should be higher, but? why? Is it less then .05% plants thrive on it...

A Green house can raise co2 up to 1500ppm for maximum plant growth..

The more co2 the faster plant grow and more the plants will use co2..

If co2 is down to 300ppm then plant growth slow and use less co2..

I bet every computer model for global warming doesn't include how plants regulate co2 by growth, and how fast plants use co2.

Its more on how much oil is pumped up and burned and how many # of co2 is put into the atmosphere..

You know tax for carbon credits by use... Cant regulate plants or tax them..

The natural Carbon cycle is well known and measurements known for different times.

Carbon-based molecules are crucial for life on Earth, because it is the main component of biological compounds. Carbon is also a major component of many minerals. Carbon also exists in various forms in the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide (CO2) is partly responsible for the greenhouse effect and is one of the most important human-contributed greenhouse gases.[2]

In the past two centuries, human activities have altered the global carbon cycle, most significantly in the atmosphere.

Current carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere exceed measurements from the last 420,000 years but are a small fraction of what they were in throughout most of the evolution of life on the planet and levels are rising quickly,[3] making it of critical importance to better understand how the carbon cycle works and what its effects are on the global climate.[2]

RR is the only place on Gods Green Earth that there are still climate deniers. There are only a few left and they're in this thread.

I hate to say it I'm happy they are almost extinct.

I made a mistake once, but I was wrong?

Almost everyone is a denier on some level or another. Argue and insult endlessly, but don't think it is seroius enough to cut back? Then you are a jerk and denier in my book.

Think there is a lot more to it than CO2? No doubt correct, but some dumb schmuck will still be a jerk over it.

I live on a bike route, only see one guy saving the planet comuting to work on bike. Safe to say almost no one takes any of it seriously.
