The link speaks volumes about the following quote from Darwin was wrong thread.
Take a scientist that has been working on a theory his whole life and show him proof he is wrong and he will thank you and change his position according to that proof, regardless of what he may or may not believe. Take a theist, and show him proof that he is wrong and he will denounce the messenger.

The global warming nonsense has really been a hit to the credibility of science thanks to the media and political promotion of it as "science". The real scientists have been skeptical and some have accurately predicted the leveling off based on sun spots and the PDO. But this man made global warming is a theory supported by ad hominem attacks, manipulated data, unfalsifiable hypotheses, greed, and political expedience. That is a fact that is becoming obvious to even the most true believers.

Thats true. And, the leader of the religion of global warming/climate change (AlGore), refuses to debate with anyone his issues. He clams up and gets his body guards to shut down anyone who wishes to debate the issue with him.

Pretty much the same as our Congress & Senate & Executive Branch of government.

Well Dennis, you know that they have been studying the newest in mathematical breakthroughs, AlGoreithms. Using these new equations they can easily predict climate change events.

The only "green" they are really interested in are the ones with the presidents faces on them.
This is the biggest scam in history, at least until the "healthcare" bill is passed!

Darwin was wrong

those who have the intelligence to understand his theory, know (and grudgingly know), that he is right.

Those that don't have the intelligence to understand, argue, infer, missinterpret, missjudge, missunderstand, etc. . .

for those who don't get it, think about this:

1) it can't be any other way, because any other way is, alas, sadly and heart breakingly, NOT possible
2) and your beliefs about unfalsifiable things have nothing to do with it and have no place for scientific debate (and should never have entered scientific debate)
3) the natural world has NEVER been nice and sweet as silly books written to fool people make out...

And Climate Change is not nonsense. Only a deluded few think it is....

How did this get off on Darwin other than mention of the other thread?

Climate change is not nonsense. Anthropological global warming alarmism is certainly nonsense. If you still believe in it at this point than you may as well build a church and preach it because it is faith based.

Climate change happens all of the time. We have a saying here in Missouri... If you don't like the weather, wait a minute, it'll change!
But seriously, we haven't been recording the weather long enough to know if we are experiancing a 100 year cycle or a ten thousand year cycle or even a million year cycle, so any thing that we think that we know is only speculation.

Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about!

In the Middle Ages they grew grapes in England to make wine. They also grew grapes in Greenland when the Vikings had their settlements there. We are returning to a climate that existed in recorded history, and not all that long ago cosmically speaking. How do we know that the climate back then was not the "norm" and that the last several hundred years have been too cool? Of course, all those cooking fires back then may have had something to do with the warm spell. But if so, why did that not continue?

I think you need to study some more Frank. No one is denying the climate has been changing earlier on too. Heck, I grow grapes too and I'm on the same latitude as Hudson Bay....

I think what they are debating is more our effect on the change, so how fast it's going...haven't really seen anyone claiming we can stop it...

Tintin, if ANYONE on this forum needs to open their eyes and look at reality it is you. I will give you some tasks, you go find the answers and report back. Just a couple to start with.

1. The Snows of Mt. Kilamanjaro are gone. Why?

2. The oceans are warming. Why?

I'll warn you in advance, you will not like the answers.

the difference between faith and science is difference between belief and evidence. If you have unfalsifiable beliefs, there's nothing anyone can do about it - especially science.
If you still believe in it at this point than you may as well build a church and preach it because it is faith based
the only difference would be is the fact that in 50 - 100 years we will know the answers - and see who's talking cr*p. So this is not an issue of faith, because science does not rely on "faith" as such.

Science relies on facts. And the facts of the matter is that we have risen our global temperatures - that's not in dispute. What is in dispute, and what a lot of policy makers rest on, is whether we (human activity on the planet) are significantly responsible for actually causing this change - or whether it is just nature itself that's doing it.

If it is the former, then we have to do something about it. If it is the latter, we would still want to know what we can do about it - or if it is unavoidable. In both cases we need to know what consequences it would have for us, but that's another matter to sort out.

That's why AGW isn't much science. They started with a theory and promoted it as the biggest danger to man all before they attempted to see if the observed data matched the predictions. When the observed date failed to match the predictions, they tried to contort the observed data to match the theory. That is where a real scientist like Darwin differs greatly from the hacks promoting AGW alarmism today. Darwin's theory is not unfalsifiable. He states how you can prove him wrong. He made predictions based on his theory which panned out long after he made them and even long after his death. We have seen the predictions based on IPCC fail year after year and yet we are not to look at the man behind the curtain? So forget this idea that AGW is based on science and the skeptics are all anti-science. The exact opposite is true. When a real scientist finds the observed data doesn't match his theory, he doesn't bury the data, refuse FOIA requests, delete data, cheer when a dissenting scientist dies, and contort and manipulate the models until the inconvenient data matches his theory. This is all happening with the supposed "scientists" that are most prominent in AGW promotion.

Yeah, AlGore said recently that the earth's core is millions of degrees hot and the earth's crust is hot. Thats news to me.

That guy is a delusional moron with as much intellectual dishonesty as any presently in Congress or the Senate.
