I put together a quick wind direction thingie and frequency board for us to use at OCP-nothin' fancy, just something to use for now-we're starting to get alot of people, figured we might want to be on the safe side.

Been gone for a week. A little surprised at what I read here when I returned but I guess I shouldn't be. I really think every effort has been made for all to be welcome and involved but I guess we will never be able to make everyone happy. Oh well.

Bob and Mike have been working on the application. I have been travelling a lot and spread too thin and appreciate their help. I'm sorry the new field is not available yet but it should be by the middle of May if we keep moving. Unless anyone disagrees I think Orange County Rotors and Planks (OCRAP) is great and we should go with it.

Glad to see more new guys showing up. I think we are going to have a great club. Make sure you have current ama so you can fly as soon as we get our charter.

Rob

PS Thanks Jack. Looks GREAT!

Rob, I don't understand? Nobody's complaining about being welcome in OUR little group. Some problems with the Rondout club is what I saw, and I spoke out with what I see as truth regarding their operation. Chin up, my friend!

I took a ride to OCP around 11:30 am today. Found no one there except brother wind and sister rain. Nevertheless, I had a lovely flight with my ThunderHawk untill the much abused wing folded on a power dive! LMAO! Glad I have a spare. Later on at another location I flew the nexus for a tankful, with no casualties! LOL. See/talk to all soon!

sayin Hey

Hello All, went out this weekend on Saturday had a ball with my RC buggy. After Ben tuned the engine that thing was crankin. Pete and Ben had their Trucks there too. We waited for Mike but he never showed up.

Hey Mike missed you this weekend. We'll get together some time.

Mike,
I was on Ebay and saw a great body for my buggy. the item number is 3191025044 it is a New 1/8 painted OFNA body for the GT LX. Buy it now for $23.00. If you think you can get it for less, bid lower but I think $23.00 for a brand new one is worth it. Let me know

Al and I were the only 2 braves souls(or fools) out at ocp early this am-sorry we missed you azzir-we left about 11. I brought my green and yellow sig, but it was so windy it was hovering about 3 inches above the ground sitting still. Al got in 2 flights with the raptor, put he needed those golden hands to hold on to it-even the awesome handlaunch wouldn't have saved my sig. Hope to see everyone there next weekend. Welcome back, Rob. Clubs seems to breed dissention among some of the ranks, you've put together a good group of officers, and I think OCRAP is an awesome name-lets keep it light, I say. Just one vote, but mines with OCRAP-think of the possibilities!

Betteries

Do any of you use Duralite Batteries?

If so what size and can you buy batteries seperate from the packeges they offer?

What is the highest NmHi battery and where do you find them. I have found at onlybatteries.com you are able to buy the batteries at around 7 bucks and assemble the packs yourself. That would make the 4200 or they even have 8000mah batteries for aropund the same price at 1.2 volts each. The 8k's are d size. Packs arenot hard to build in my opinion.

Compared to the Li-pol and others that are touchy, and I am dangerous around batteries as some of you know, would this be a good idea? The Li-pols are over 90 bucks just for the packs.

What do you think?

Ed, the Tower catalogue has batteries of all types and sizes, in ready made packs or singles at reasonable prices. If you know what you want, they prolly have it. Other then that, I wouldn't know what to tell ya!

I have my new canopy for the R30, but I need a lower body clip. Does anyone have one I may have? The last one was smashed.
