Scriber,

I have an SE. It's a fantastic 3D heli. It'll do anything my nitros will do only closer to me. I've even flown it on windy days although the tail authority lacks big time in wind.

What questions do you have about it?

scriber i have a t-rex as well and it is great to be able to practice in my front yard. i think it has been too windy to fly it when i saw you at the field but i know it has been out on my truck when you were there. between dshaffer and i we can help you build a nice heli. it is all in the parts you put in it per how well it will fly. also bob knows a lot about electric helis and has one he flies very well if you want to see one in the air doing 3d.

Would the 430l and 35g esc be good enough? Run with a 3s 2100?
There's a NIB for sale in classifieds right now for 400 shipped.

t-rex

personally i would stay away from any algin components, dshaffer can chime in on how his first t-rex build flew until he put in better electronics, start with a new base kit and build your own heli. the micros are much more critical to get the build and the set up perfect. first you want to start with a 450 kit. watch out for the older versions. next make sure you get a newer swash plate design it will be metal and say algin on the front, anything else are junk and throw them away as the seporate in flight. i would strongly suggest you look into a kontroniks jazz ECS, 401 gyro, 9254 dig tail servo, HS 56 on all other servos, the futaba mini PCM RX, either the sab blades or the align 325 real carbon fiber blades. this is not a cheap build but if you want a micro that flies like the raptor with out the burned up ECS problems and motor problems and a tail that kicks out, this is my suggestion. one last thing put a set ot gorilla landing gear on it. look at my gallery if you want to see mine.
