If the wind calms down later in the day I will be out. We might be able to use the tractor for the spreader, I need to find out what sort of hitch it needs. But I can't do anything about that until the first weekend of June now.

BTW: Rob if you read this, did you get my 9254 yet?

training gear

rob if you see this or anyone else that could give me some input. i adjusted the carb needle setting so the engine runs smoother with out stalling when i remove the glow ingniter. it is set at one and 1/8 turns from fully closed. i did this on the fourth tank of fuel. still lots of smoke so i dont think i am too lean. engine is hyper 50 with 15% cool power heli mix.

when do i know when to take training gear off. i was hovering in my front yard this afternoon after the wind stopped about 1 foot off the ground, i am able to keep it in one spot and let it down softly to the ground. it is much easier with very little wind. my first day hovering wind was variable and i had some hard landing with the training gear. my first gallon of fuel is almost gone. of course now i have to work in philly most of this week so i cant come up during the week.

Swattely, WTG on the hovering! This wind we had all weekend I never even went out. I got a mini electric I hovered some in my living room tho. Anyway, I just read your post, and although I ain't no good heli pilot, I can tell you that only you can decide when to take the trainers off. If it was me, I'd wait until after I can comfortably do a bit of forward flight and recover into a hover. Too late for me!! Oh well.

Hey Gary! I hope so man, I really hope so. I'm sure at some point I'll get out for a bit of it, at least unless the weather is a total blowout. When are you going?

Jon,
Just click your heel's to come back. That is if your wearing your RUBY slippers.

Sunday if the weather looks good I'll be out. Hoping to bring the BIG bi-plane as well as the heli.

Man! What a day!! If tomorrow is supposed to be the "nice" day of the weekend, it sure will be a winner, because today was just great. I went flying twice today. This morning when I went to our field, I found Ed and an assistant working down at the end of the runway, so I left and went to the fairgrounds lot. There I flew the Avistar about 4 times until I got bored and left. Then this evening I was bored here so I went to our field and flew the crap out of Lilly's plane. Plus I did the mowman thing, so it should be nice for tomorrow. Who's coming out and when?

Fast growing lawn Gary! But seriously, most of it looked great. The only problem was there were a LOT of those dandilion seedheads sticking up. Not anymore. Or maybe they are back already. With the rain last night, they might be. Rick
