Hi guys, sorry I wasn't out on Saturday, have a few illneses in the family that came about around the same time (all heart problems too) so I am hanging around the house waiting for news on that and not in a great mood. Maybe next week.

I'll help out where I can with crystals as well, by paying my membership dues in advance, let me know what we have decided on for this year. I'm all for the channel sharing arrangement and using the club dues to help sort that out.

Rick looks like the hardest hit, but we can sort that out. Might be worth checking out their field, it might be better setup for planes than ours, but either way, donna worry about it too much.

Jack you're going to need a full module for changing your TX channel.

I think we should plan to comply ASAP. They should do the same. Until we do there is the potential of conflict/safety concerns. They do not seem to fly as much as we do so tomorrow should be ok but maybe we should make an effort to stop there a couple of times to see whats going on.

I have to go to Long Island tomorrow and CA Mon night until Wed but can order crystals for anyone that flies Futaba before I go or when I get home.

$10 per crystal it is not an insurmountable obstacle and the only reasonable solution so far. If they go through with their plan it will be an excellent place for planes, helis cars etc.

SAR I hope your families health issues work out ok.

Based on most of the feedback on this board and the fellas I have spoken too it sounds like the frequency plan is a viable solution. All my "fixed" receivers are on 38 so I will be changing over this week. I am going to keep my other crystals in case I want to fly at the SOURS "dump"

I think it is great that the other club was so willing to work this out and give us the opportunity to keep our field and join theirs. Now if we can stay on Ed's good side life will be good.

I'll try to come out at 9:30 for a little while. Got to leave for LI by 11

According to a conversation Bob had this morning it sounds like the SOURS guys are going to start using the field next weekend. I was not able to get out there today.

We should all plan to comply with the freq agreement by then. I may have a spare synthesized receiver I can loan out for next weekend. If someone gets hung up I'll try to make it available.

Rick have you considered cutting down your radio fleet? It's a lot easier to deal with 1 or 2 freqs rather than 9 or 10 (!!). Would also be cheaper crystal wise as well.

I consider all things. And all things considered, the way I'm doing my hobby is working for me. Fresh plane, fresh radio. It's not my fault that I'm an even kind of guy and most of my crystals are even, but that's the way it is. I appreciate the concern and advice, but since I've gotten a lot of my planes as RTF's that included a radio, and recently I've gotten a bunch off eBay with radio also and I had no choice of channel, saving money by buying new crystals isn't saving money. I don't particularly look forward to pulling all my crystals, especially since most of the receivers are wrapped in foam and tucked away inside the fuse somewhere, not to mention the cost of all those crystals. I have ONE odd channel crystal pair, and that is in the DuraPlane which means I have to tear it out for use. This is a pain in my butt. Maybe when SOURS are flying I'll go to their field. Oh well. It'll work out.

Ed,

I think we have all considered that! That is why we are going through this split. It is causing work/expense for members of both clubs but I do not see another solution. If there is one I would certainly like to hear it.

Unfortunately saving money is low on the list of concerns. That is why we have been talking about getting the club $$ involved. The cost of not following the plan is too high and will jeopordize the safety and existance of our club at least as far as flying at Ed's farm. I like the spot and the group too much to take those risks and that seems to be the general consensus.

Yip

I am even willing to help out some way. I just had a bad vision, yet funny at the same time somehow..?.. Just ask if you need help. I would be happy to switch over if needed. I am still on 47 however.

The fact that you may buy new crystals Rick, is not a bad thing. You don't have to throw them away. You may be able to trade with the other group. It may take some work but it is better than watching your planes get shot down or worse, chase after you.
