Field

I love everybody 'till they piss me off.....

We collectively have no problem I assume with them as people. The fact is I personaly do not want a repeat of last spring with heli haters. Keep our field and split the frequencies. I would rather spend the $25.00 then go through all that crap again.

Avoid another comflict, dont vote for Bush and dont give up our field.

As the 1st guy to actually fly anything on Ed's field, I wish I had something pithy and wise to share with the group (vote for Bush), but I don't. And let's keep politics OUT of this (vote for Bush).

What I'm thinking is, I understand the SOURS not wanting to give up their field. Like us, they've worked for it, they pay for it and prolly have invested time and work into it. That being said, I have yet to see the padlock off the gate at their field, and that includes Saturdays and Sundays. Is there another way in? Tell them to keep their field, and we will keep ours. If there is activity at both sites we deal with it on a case by case basis. At any rate, that's what I'm going to do.

However, checking out the SOURS field is not the worst thing we could do either, but how do we do that if there's a lock on the gate? I agree with Rob about the tenuousness of our current arrangement. It's nice while it lasts, but...

'Nuff said!

i can see things getting really crowded if we consolidate with another club. i'm comfortable flying when there are other craft in the air, but i know a lot of people aren't--especially when it's helis in the air. and i don't want to fly inside a little box above some designated corner of the field while plankers fly the pattern. At our field you can hover in one spot or tear up the whole sky because there's usually only one pilot at a time flying and never (that i've seen) more than two. how's that going to work when we're on someone else's turf and they're worried about mid-airs with helis that don't fly the pattern?

The sim will help you a lot. Not the mention the savings in money! Just keep on it It becomes second nature in no time. Just think you'll be able to fly all winter in the compfort of your home. By spring you'll be a pro at the real thing. Lots of sim time is a good thing.

I know I haven't been around for a few weeks-working 50 hrs at regular job, school at night, working a 2nd job on sat, but I've been following the posts when I can. We've worked hard to get where we are. Maybe some don't notice, but this is an EXCEPTIONAL group of people we've put together. I've often said how proude I am to belong. If you join sours they WILL try to swallow you up-its what they do. We will lose what we have worked for, not just the field, but the very personality of ourselves as a group. They will eventually turn on the helis-Rob will no longer be in charge, and that will be the end. We will have to break away and start over again. As it was said on a post, there's always a few in the crowd-but not in our crowd. That's why we're who we are. I'd rather find another field than lose that. My vote is for sharing frequencies and keeping our own place-and identity. I wouldn't trade our situation we've worked hard for or a single person we have for anything. My real vote is for keeping it that way. Hopefully I can get out there sunday, even if its just to see some of the guys-just my 2 cents worth, but I wouldn't let anyone mess with our group without a fight.

PROBLEM SOLVED

As long as nobody freaks and says I have sinned against the club I have made an agreement with the SOURS guys that they will have even freqs and we will have odd. Both fields can fly safe and happy. OK?

PS anyone that needs futaba crystals can have 'em at my cost. Sorry I don't sell JR. Horizon does not like 3D-RC.

EFFECTIVE ASAP

Rick,

That certainly sucks. Members on both sides are going to get hurt. I have to buy quite a few crystals myself. Perhaps we can set up a crystal swap with them to help each other out. I plan on joining their club as well since it sounds like they are going to have a great airplane field close by perhaps with a long term lease and big improvments!

How is the SOURS field different? I may be interested in being a memeber if the field is longer for plankin.

Bob had an Idea

We get get all the deadbeats that fly at our field for free to pay their dues (which will be due again in Jan) and start a crystal hardship relief program! We should have more than enough cash.

Well, nobody was at the SOURS field or at our field when I went out today around 3:30, with channel 46 the BrightStar, and I had a great flight.
