I have never flown a helo before but i do have some flight time on a Sim g5.0 Ive been going every wed and thurs to the hobby shop for heli's night and i got myself addicted now.

I do fly planes and this is my first Heli. I love Micro, I have many Micro T and high roller Cars. so this is why i chose what i chose.

I bought myself a Heli-Max Novus FP Micro 2.4GHz RTF on tower for 134 with a 25 dollar off code and it came with a free 1s lipo.

What do you think for a first Heli? I have alot of patience, time and money since I know i might end up breaking things here and there. (well at least hope not)

that heli will be good for a starter as its small, cheap parts, and very durable. keep up on the sim hard and have fun

If you can aford it get the CX ver to start then move up. the coax will be much better to start with. Th FP is much faster and agile.

thanks for the info. the reason i didnt go with the cx is because right now on the sim i can hover a blade 400 3d really good so i figured the FP would be a good start. In my eyes I think the CX is alittle 2 newbish and i wanted a challenge. Thanks for the info

you started out good

keep going on your FP for now

consider getting a 500 size next when you have mastered your FP

get a 90

If your wanting to learn to fly take my advice flying a larger heli is much easier. Since you have no budget jump in the water is warm....

It has nothing to do with the challenge its like a crack addict or lay's potato chips. you cant stop with just one

Just accept the fact that your hooked and the rest of your life will be messed up.

Upgrading helis?

Ok dude, here is some food for thought being what you just bought.

I doubt your gonna be happy with it for long, but it will do for now. Once you get good with that, here are 2 good options for ya..but to be fair, the heli you just bought and the Walkera are pretty close to the same. I just seemed to like the Walkera better. Maybe it was just a mind thing.

Trex 250. I've got one of theses and when set up right, ( many people dont' take the time and just set it up like a 450) They fly GREAT and are a blast.

Now, if you really want to get your fix on, how about a Walkera 4G6 or a 4G3. Just make sure you get the double brushless set up on the 4G3. The 4G6 is torque tube. Nothin cooler than going inverted in your front room and landing it next to the light!!!..he he he..

the 250 is a bit large for front room flying, but if you can find somewhere indoors to fly like a gym or something, It's a blast. It will also fly just fine in some good wind. I'm shocked at the wind this thing will fly great in.

right and i understand all your points and as of right now im having fun with the Novus FP. Its pretty hard in my eyes and im sure im gonna be at this for sometime. as of right now My hover is really good and I read on the helifreak forums about glueing your flybar paddles so they dont move and glueing your swashplate for better controll wich I have done.

Ive gone to the Local indoor a few times already and ive been watching alot of people fly there 250 trex's and CP Pro 2's inverted and doing some crazy 3d. I do like the size of the 250's and will be grabbing one at xmas.
