You CAN afford it, without increasing your taxes. Just stop spending it on bombs for other countries.
No, we can't. The Iraq and Afghanistan wars were financed, and will not be paid off for generations to come. We're broke, it really is that simple. We need to stop spending on new things, and pay off the debt we have now. Then and only then, should any new spending be considered. Especially, an UNFUNDED trillion dollar health care program!

You CAN afford it, without increasing your taxes. Just stop spending it on bombs for other countries. At the height of the iraqi war, you were spending an average of 4 billion a MONTH on ordinance alone for the war. Use the money for the good of all your people instead of securing the profits of a few and you will find the USA a much better place to live. (and way less people will hate you)
I recently made a post in another thread that addresses that, among a few other issues:
A large portion of the rest of the world has received our treasures given to them by us willingly, and we have sacrificed by death and injury to help protect them, therefore protecting ourselves.

Unfortunately, a portion of the rest of the world are ungrateful of those sacrifices, and through the far left ideology, have redefined the sacrifices we have made of ourselves and the rest of the world into something that is selfish, greedy, and ungiving of itself and is only thinking of themselves through jealous ways.

A very unfortunate turn of things.

John, you can't jump back and forth, either jail is specificly mentioned in the bill or it is not. You claimed it is. I claimed you may have heard her admit there is a route to that (through existing laws of course) but there was no specific mention of it in writing. I asked you to point to it IN THE BILL, not in a video.
There's no "jumping back and forth", the bill says if you don't have acceptable health coverage you are refered to the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 "Sec. 501 TAX ON INDIVIDUALS WITHOUT ACCEPTABLE HEALTH CARE COVERAGE", which says guess what happens when you don't pay your taxes? You can go to jail. It's not surprising that you are trying to split hairs and pretend it doesn't say what it does indeed say, anyone supporting this bill will have to squirm around the blatant truth.

Thats what the far left will attempt to do until they get it passed. Even Palosi had to admit that by saying jail & fines were FAIR. Obama agreed with her. Fair to who? Only to the far left and their constituents.

It does not look to good for them right now. We can only hope this evilness dies in the Senate.

ordinance was a small part of that cost. The 4 Billion was to run the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Just goes to show that your facts are a bit lacking. I wonder how your facts are lacking when it comes to other political areas of our country?

Thanks John,

People just didn't seem to get it but I'm glad you reinforced my point EXACTLY.
refered to the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 "Sec. 501 TAX ON INDIVIDUALS WITHOUT ACCEPTABLE HEALTH CARE COVERAGE",
The above is an existing piece of legislation. It is not created in the bill you guys are all upset about, That was my point, all this does is point you at the existing laws, if jail is part of those laws, you should have bitched then rather than blame any law that references it. That has been my point all along, glad to see ya all caught up now....

You may not like it but it's a lot like the example I gave about the sick child being offered candy or medicine, you guys don't know enough to know whats good for you.

You really need to pay attention, there are MANY countries with far better health care than the USA,and they have government sponsored healthcare. EVEN CUBA IS BETTER AT IT THAN YOU DESPITE YOU BEST EFFORTS TO SCREW THEM OVER. You guys are too busy trying to screw the last dollar out of everyones pocket as profit than to have any concerns about your family, friends or neighbours.

Good luck with that, I hope it passes so I can tell you to "move out of the USA if you hate it so much" as soon as you start sooking.

Yeah, we are so unconcerned about our friends or neighbors, no one is denied health care in the USA and many come from other countries to get health care here.

Yes, the ones that can afford to pay are getting the cost of taking care of the ones that can't. But, its better than another multi trillion dollar government program that history shows will fail.

We just don't want our government involved in it. Pure and simple. If you do, then go for it. Best of luck.

No, I had not until you poinmted it out.

However, no surprise there. Oregon is an extremely left leaning state and is presently the 5th on the list of states going broke because of huge deficits. The primary reason for those huge deficits here is the retirement & benefit packages of state workers is far, far the best in the country and draining our tax dollars quickly. Especially now in a crappy economy, low employment figures and lower state revenues.

In fact, I believe Oregon just recently broke the record in the USA for the highest in decreased income to the state in tax revenues in the shortest period of time. But, the libs in the state capital and the governor keep spending and spending.

See where we are going?

Oh, ok I see what your referring to, it's a little misleading though, what it says is that some people will have to go to a medi-center and see a doctor there rather than have a personan family doctor. It's not like anyone is being turned away from medical aid. You just have to visit a clinic or hospital than some doctors private office.

It's all still free for Canadians, the shortage of Doctors has a lot to do with societys missplaced values. Giving some dork with a stick millions for hitting a ball and trying to limit the saleries of doctors and nurses results in more people dropping out of school to practice there slap shot rather than study and become a doctor. That's the same problem for you guys (except golf clubs instead of hockey sticks) You may pay your doctors better in the private helthcare industry, but it's still not enough to make enough people strive for it, not when you can be talentless in the USA and still become famous.

Why bother doing the work when the reward can be the same or better without it? Why isn't Joe Francis a doctor?

Our doctors make plenty of money right now. That will change with if "the Affordable Health Care for America Act" passes. Then they will be just as underpaid as public school teachers are.

You know, its hard for me to understand why teachers in the USA are underpaid. They have 12 weeks in the summer off. They get every holiday known to man off, plus a few extra. They get great retirement benefits. I have a lot of respect for good teachers and the job they do. But, since I have been an adult, they have ALWAYS begged for more and more and more. They continue to get it.

In fact, here in Oregon (where this state is going broke from huge deficits, same as California), state workers get some of the greatest benefits in the country for state workers while unemployment is in the 12% range and holding there.

Yes, teachers have great benefits packages. The average public school teacher only earns $40K a year. That's hardly enough to support a family in todays economy. Especially, after those benefits are deducted from their pay. But, that's what happens when you let government and unions dictate your pay.
