Schluter Heli Boy

Just completed Thanks "tutlar" for the instruction manual & everyone for help finding some missing replacement parts. Of the six kits I have built (gas / nitro / elect.) This is by far the most fun kit ever. I have 106 detailed pics if anyone is intrested. OH and thanks to Augusto of avant for letting me talk him out of this kit.

I just found out my brother still has my Mini-Boy up in his attic! He may even have my Century 7 radio I gave him with it. He is going to pack it up and ship it to me and I will make it flyable Again!

My very first Helicopter was a brand new Hirobo MH 10. It was very cheap and came with a 2.5ccm OS Engine. Despite the fact that it was very crappy I learnt to hover with the little thing. When I have learned to do simple hovering circles tail-in and side-in it was completely worn out.
My second Helicopter was the X-Cell 40. I still remember the feeling the first time i hovered it. It was so easy! Unfortunately I only got one flight that day because the starter cone loosened.

By the way: X-Cell still make the best helicopter (the Stratus!).

Kyosho Concept 30 ~20 years ago. It was a lot of fun to learn on... right until it decided to commit suicide after a radio dropout. Hit a wall & shredded itself as the throttle was still at hover speed. Wasn't worth fixing. I dropped helis until just this year, having a lot of fun getting back into it.

If something hasn't broken on your helicopter... it's about to.

Blade Cp +

Bought it a few years ago. It flew some but never well. Moved up to 50 size nitro's and love them. I still try to fly the CP but crash it after a few minutes lol.

Graupner Bell 47

Bought in the late 70's, (75, 78 ?). Fixed pitch, standard Futaba radio, no revo, no gyro, it cut grass nicely and pirouetted perfectly If I remember it did leap around 3ft off the ground once and scared the heck out of me ! I never found anyone else flying heli's in Hong Kong at that time, and put it on the shelf. I dug it out again in the early nineties and did get it of the ground, (using ALL the original equipment), but it finally succumbed to plastic fatigue and disintegrated on a hard landing. I'd love to find another to try with modern radio, just for the nostalgia

First Heli

My first machine was an American Revolution .40 with collective pitch that I bought around '75 or '76. It had a K&B .40 in it and I used a Kraft single stick radio. I flew this off and on till around '87 when I gave it to a new flier. This was the only example of a collective pitch Revolution .40 I've seen since.

My first heli was my Cricket in 81', still have it and a few more.
I worked with Bob McDaniels making Ni-Starters and we went to the Toleto Weak Signal trade show. We were next to GMP, John and Robert were great to talk to. Bob and I both got a Cricket by the end of the show. No gyro, made my own Ace Silver Seven single stick radio and had a ball!

My first heli was bought in 1984. It was a Ripmax Zenith which, from memory, was a Schluter HeliBoy clone of some description. All metal, very heavy and powered by a HGK-45 heli engine. It looked the part but unforfunately it didn't fly too well being fixed pitch with no gyro. After time out for cars, wine and women, I bought a V1 Raptor when they first came out and have been spending money ever since. Still learning to fly though but who isn't until they can fly like Lucas Riva

My first helicopter was a Kalt flying Box, or as I called it the flying bridge(because it was made somewhat girder like).
It had a flatbed type of machanics and was sold by MRC.. it came with a scale H 500 fiberglass fuselage and you were to install the helo gear in it after you learned to fly on the trainer (Box).

My first radio was MRC-6, Both ther heli, and radio are still serviceable.

first one was the Hirobo Shuttle Z/ OS 32F-H with recoil starter and a Sanwa (Airtronics) Space radio. we never became friendly, so after 6 months of trouble i got a Concept 30 DX /Os 32F-H that gave better results. worked my way through 5 helis in the Concept-series, last one being the SR-version with a Bell 222-body with retracts, controlled by a Futaba Super-seven.
