I have been wondering how you get rid of an auto trim? I've done it, but it probably wasn't done correctly and I would like to start over.

Autotrim

Is not necessarily needed and if you want to do it again, just click the autotrim button in the VBAR program and then when you power the heli up, do it with the stick in the full up position. You will see the head twitch twice and then you are in. Make sure you turn it off when you get ready to fly.....again DO NOT fly in autotrim mode..........Ron

If you did an autotrim and your heli still wobbles in pirouettes, then either your CG is off or you had a bad autotrim. Check your CG and make sure it's perfect. Once you know it is, then retry the autotrim. I wasn't a fan of the autotrim at first but after I fixed my bad CG, I redid the autotrim and I can honestly say my 400 flys perfect.

How long does the V bar stay in Autotrim mode once you lower the throttle to start her up?

After those two twitches on the head Is it active for as long as it is switched on in the menu and the power has not been turned off?

You don`t have to carry the heli out to the take off position will full collective and throttle hold on - do you?

Also are you sure you can you just go over the last stored settings just by doing the whole procedure again?

Sorry for the questions on someone elses thread - had my V Bar for nearly 12 months now but only recently gone over to V4.

Until you cut the power. You just uncheck the box so that if you happen to start up again with the sticks full up, you won't go into autotrim again.

See above

No you don't, just on initialization. After that everything else is normal

Yes

Autotrim may be active when you turn the vbar on at full collective but the autotrim doesn't take any readings and adjust trim values unless the collective is above half and you don't move any stick for more than 0.3 seconds (If I remember correctly). Once you get the heli into a hover and stop moving the sticks then the autotrim starts to take readings. The green light tells you the vbar was able to collect a good amount of data (time) to calculate the trim. The trim values or bar graph tells you how well your heli is balance. If the bars are long then your heli is not balanced on the main shaft and you should try to fix that if you can.

In the latest version of the software .18 there is a Clear autotrim button.

One thing not to forget, even if your cyclic is tip-top, autotrim also adjust the center of the tail, unless your 100% sure that your default deflection is correct for the given headspeed (since it changes with RPM), tail will benefit from autotrim too.
