i have had three crashes the last 3 flights on my 600 due to the tail going crazy, I hit throttle hold and tail continues to spin all the way down. I cant tell if im stripping gears or its a bad servo or my gyro, im running the 401 combo. I have noticed so wage in the tail is this a indication of a servo going bad or maybe the gyro? Whats a good sign?

If the heli has been sitting awhile, is the battery any good? The 401 will reset when its voltage drops too low (gotta go pretty low, however -- less than 3.5 volts for sure).

But if that happens, the gyro goes through its power-up sequence. Not only does that take a few seconds, but it can't be too happy if it's tryint to reset, the heli is spinning, and you're romping on rudder.

-----

Other than that, eliminate the servo by swapping it out for another. As this is a test, you don't need to have another servo of the same type installed, you just need a different known good servo. If you stick an analog servo on the 401, remember to turn off the DS switch unless you like smoke.

-----

Servo gears are easy to inspect, so if you think you have a bad gear, well, pop the top off the servo and have a look. You can also generally tell by simply moving the servo by hand and "feeling" for missing or bad teeth.

i replaced the battery when i got back, I will try a new servo next.
It never does it until I stick bang so normal flying does create the same problem

Also, I am not sure if you are running a belt drive but check your belt tension. Loose belts will skip and jump esp. when hot causing tail wag.
