awhile back I know that MA was using rods from arrows like a bow and arrow. all you would have to do is make sure the diameter is the same and cut to lenght hope this helps out. They are pretty cheap from what i hear.

Trying not to put them in the dirt.

I used an arrow shaft from wal mart.... Don't remember the number though...Take in your old tt and do some sizing up tho the other arrows.....You will have to use all of the stuff from your old tt though...Pins, Ends, pin covers, Etc.

I made one from an arrow from Walmart as well. It's been a while (right after the TT was introduced I put one in a heli and promptly crashed before they had spares), but I just measured and took a small section to compare. They had a damn near perfect match. I just cut off each end, then cut to length and transferred the ends.

What kind of fit ? The factory fit is somewhat of a press fit . If it has any tolerance at all it will throw the tt out of line . That's my biggest concern .

Like I said, it's been a while, but it fit perfectly. I flew with it for a year or so before I sold the heli with it still working great.

The tube size measures as follows .

I.D = .263 or 6.6802mm

O.D = .311 or 7.8993mm

Nice idea guys. Never even crossed my mind on making one from an arrow. During a crash.. the ends never get damaged, so its a great way to reuse them. I would imagine it would be a bit heavier, but beefier as well. If the tube doesn't give, something else will though.. .

Yea, I have a friend that uses the arrows in hi MA. I thought of trying it in my synergy but sold it before I had to rebuild it. I am sure there are many people on hear doing the same with the higher end helis due to the cost savings. Good luck!

My purpose for needing to make a tt isn't a cost factor , it's a need factor . Align didn't make a 60 size tt and that's what I need .
