Just got home from a heli fly-in at Hodges Hobbies. Had a great time watching some really good 3-D pilots. I flew down at the end, trying to stay out of sight as much as possible.

Didn't see but one minor crash the whole day. A small electric tipped over. When I have been to these before the hot dogs were whacking the ground on a regular basis. Maybe they are all just better or taking less chances.

Ask your doctor if your heart is healthy enough for Radio Control Helicoptering.

I with ya! I was taking more chances last summer and has about 4 crashes with my 2 600's. I started being a little smarter after that. Heading into fall, my busy season at work, work volume has suffered and I have made changes. I got the old 450 out and upgraded it and have been having a ball with it in my back yard. I bought a used 500 after totaling up the expected nitro bill for 2010. I fell in love with it and really expect to fly it a lot if times continue to be tough. My 700 really made me look at the price of nitro and think twice. I bet many others are making similar changes.

I personally have seen a small decline in attendance this year at funflys. I don't think people are traveling as much as they used to. Every dollar counts.

It's a complex, costly, glow powered anti-gravity machine!

the only way nitro will come down is if the price goes below $1500 a drum. It was $2100 a drum. I was looking at my price sheets from 2002 and Getting 20% for $16 a gal. and 30% for $18.
