As in the OCTOBER issue? Subscribers were receiving the Oct issue last week some time.

If it's the November issue you're asking about, I don't think anyone has that one yet.

I have been a subscriber since they hit the newstands. They even did an article on lil ole me. However, it's been a slippery slope downhill for them, and have decided not to renew for next year. They haven't stimulated my heli brain in quite awhile now, so it's time to let em go.

I'm sick of reviews. The reviews themselves I thought were OK. I'm just tired of reading the same stuff over and over about every POS that hits the streets. Even it it's not a POS, it's boring reading a mag full of reviews. Everything is about extreme 3D, also. They have the token scale column that they let in once in awhile, which is interesting, but not enough to hold my interest. Not enough detail and content, and I'm sure it's no fault of Dr Tim. In four years, they never once made mention of the US Helicopter Nationals, and I'm sure they had no clue about the recent Worlds, either. Then again, our own AMA mag columnist can't seem to do the same either.

What would I have liked to see? Maybe some more articles or columns on real-world pilots. Actual, detailed, photographed build articles, like we used to see in MAN or RCM back in the 90s. You know, articles that are multi-part and keep bringing the reader back for the next issue? Show us how a turbine goes together and what makes it tick. Maybe some articles about RC Helicopter dynamics, not stuff pulled from the FAA Helicopter Handbook for full scale birds. Talk about what Delta is, the effects of Flyber Ratios, etc. These are questions I see asked all the time in forums. Go through the forums in about an hour and get ideas for 20 articles.

Anyways, nuff said. I guess I'll drop the dough on a Rotor World sub from the UK, since the US offerings aren't cutting it. Too bad, really...

I enjoy the mag and I have found many of the articles helpful, but the proof reading stinks. I don't know why it bothers me so much but it is always filled with typos, misspellings, and grammatical errors. Sometimes there are even factual mistakes. I believe one issue stated that the Vibe E is JR's first electric heli? I had to read that a few times to see if I was reading it wrong (I have a Voyager E). Guys from RC Heli Mag, tighten up man! it looks amateurish.

How very true. In how many articles can you discuss how to wash your heli? There is absolutely no depth - it is tailored entirely for the beginner. Even the reviews are lacking in any depth from the pics to the text. I know the slant is that of the RC car guy whose average age and attention span is likely a tad lower than than average heli flyer, but this aint cutting it. The number of pages seems to decrease monthly, and if it weren't for the advertisers and the girls I'd cancel out too. They could add so much really good material if they would just look long term. I agree, the content ratio of RCM was what made them great, unfortunately the management is what took them down. Believe it or not, RC helis are not the same mentality as RC cars. The audience is different. I'd love to bend Mr. Velez' ear some time.

Still have not received October. I renewed online several months ago (and have the receipt to prove it) and I was sent an invoice. Seems very unorganized.

Got mine about two week ago, but kinda disappointed in the content.

If the wings are traveling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter.

DEADLINE.......
RC Heli Mag guys should google this word. It's a new concept in journalism, just hit the streets! The newest "IN" thing!!

The local book stores actually have them on the shelves before I get mine in the mail. That may get me to not re-subscribe before the content bores me to much. Although I totally agree with ErichF as far as some more variety is concerned. BTW, they could use that article on ErichF as a model for future issues. I enjoyed that article very much!

Unlikely, since many receive their copies two or more weeks ago. More likely a problem with production and distribution.

I got my October issue last week sometime. They are really slow lately. Apparently they have been having problems with their distributor/publisher. I hope they have that fixed now.
