I am looking into building up a Logo 600 over the winter and was considering going FBL. My question is: Do I have to run Mikado's V-BAR system or can I run any FBL system like the GryoBot700 which is what I would prefer to run.

I only need one!

You can use any flybarless system you want.
I think Jag uses or used the Gyrobot on mikados.

I have never owned or flew a FBL heli. I have done some research into the FBL systems and for me I would choose the GyroBot700. My big question besides the slight aerodynamic and flight time gain what are the differences I will notice hands down between FB and FBL. I have only come across one person who said they went this route but went back after flying so I will guess 99% who go FBL never go back.

I only need one!

I have only flown with mikados Vbar so i have no experiance with any other systems.
They become very precise in the way they fly.
You can set the Vbar to fly from mild 2 wild depending on your settings.
The speed of the roll rate of the heli goes through the roof they really will snap over nice and fast if you want.
Even with lower head speeds the roll rate can still be dialed up to be very fast and lower head speed = longer flight times.
The gyro sysytem gives it grate stability in all flight types Hovering,fff,3D.
The tail also works very good nice crisp stops ect the thing really holds well.

On the other hand they work very well for scale helis also using the vbar system for the slow and gracefull type flying.
Your heli can go from slow smooth and gentle to a seriously fast 3D machine by the flick of a switch.

I really like the way the heli flys.
The V4 software has made the use of a vbar system much much easyer, and if its going into a logo it is nearly as easy as plug and play.

LOL i sound like a sales REP.

I own a Logo 600 VBAR, a Logo 500 VBAR, and a FBL Henseleit 3DMP. I have also owned a Vibe 50 with VBAR. I have to say that it really makes a huge difference in how the heli feels in the air. Like Ivor said it makes the cyclics crazy fast and you also get a bump in HP for the motors .
You can choose to get longer flight times (keep the power the same) or use the extra power for an increase (VERY intoxicating ) and when you fly the heli, it will track like nobody's business. My machines are very powerful and my Logo 500 will sport fly for 7:00 on a 6s 5000 25c Zippy pack with a HS of 2300.
I bet once you get the FBL Logo 600 built, setup and flying, you will quickly want to convert your other helis.............Ron
