Hi, I have 2 heli's that I had setup and programmed by my local hobby shop. Tragedy struck and our long time hobby shop owner passed away.

I want to learn on my own on setting up my first heli - is there a website that has all the info laid out and detailed?

This magazine was recommended to me, but its $30!! - Model Airplane News RC Helicopter How To s

Any reccomendations?

There is no magic in setting up ANY heli. It's a pretty straightforward, methodical process. If you set up one heli and understand what you did, you can apply that knowledge to any heli.

A good first step is to build the heli per the manual. That goes a long way towards getting the linkages correct.

And for additional help, tell us WHAT heli you are building, and WHAT equipment you have or will have to put in the heli. We can help much more if we know what equipment you have.

I will be building the Trex 500 with a GY520 + 9257. Stock ESC & motor. Hitecs on cyclics.

I have never programmed a gyro or my radio for mixing and pitch etc...etc...

I have a feeling i will pick it up quickly though but just need a little guidance..

raptortechnique looks awesome - i will be sure to use it in the upkeep of my Raptor 50

What radio will you be using? Hitec servos, but which ones?

The post here has three links in it. If you read and understand those, you'll be able to set up your 500 and any other 120 degree CCPM heli out there today.
