Would anyone happen to know that in general how much lifting force can be generated by a RC wing, like a combat wing, compared to that of a kite? I know how to calculate lifting force of an airfoil but no idea how to go about doing this for a kite.

will wash your heli for a quarter

I play with power kites, like the ones people use for kite surfing (only smaller).
If you're unfamiliar, they're essentially miniature parachutes.

Even my smallest one which is just a 1 meter kite can generate enormous power. In good winds and a fast airspeed it can pull me around the field a little bit, at least until the string breaks. Im not a small guy.

I don't have any actual numbers for you, but based on feel, I think the small 1 meter kite pulls somewhere around 80 to 100 pounds, maybe a little more.

I have a 1.5 meter power kite that I've used to pull myself up and down the river in a kayak.
