Ok! I can get very smooth video with it, but which expensive parts of this "heli" justify a final base price of $14995.95 USD??????

All posts I have read suggest that smooth video is only really possible in low or zero wind conditions, so this negates any possible advantage it might have over conventional helis. When you add the outrageous price, the whole thing becomes a sad joke for people sucked in by its false promises..

As I have said before, if these things matched the hype, the pros would use them, and they don't.

I think you're right BigguyOz!
I hope nothing will never replace rc helis for our purpose! I love too much to do it!

The only thing I can come up with is that it is a turn-key operation. Everything is assembled and all of the components are designed to work together. It has a decent payload and can lift some decent camera gear. There is no guesswork and endless tweaking of settings. All of that said, it is priced about 5 times higher than I would even consider parting with. Actually one of the prices I saw was closer to $25K, that is why I say 5 times too much. Even at $5K I doubt I would be able to seriously consider a purchase.

Maybe they are easy to fly. But the price is certainly not easy on the bank account. I'll stick to conventional heli with HC or other stabilizer.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

zip, nada, nothing, zero!

Seriously i got a colleague with this money sucker, its doesnt handle the slightest amount of wind, and as far as i see it, its only good for REAL tight downtown areas, but then again, he often get problems with enough satellites for a gps fix, cause it wont take of before you have enough...
Gooood product? big bang in your head for bucks, LOL

There are comments that it can only fly, with good results, in light winds. There are others here who operate tri-copters and quads, how well do those designs handle wind? Do other designs handle winds better than the draganflyer does, or is this a common fault of these designs? I ask partly because I have considered buying a quad but things tend to be a bit breezy here in central Florida.

Thats is exactly why they cost so much, they aim for governments and surveillance where the money bag has no bottom
