That is a real American. I can respect that guy more than most people I meet.

I just don't happen to agree with gay marriage.

Just an opinion. Don't get all excited.

Okay.. the guy goes on to say that the reason he fought and had friends dies was for the rights of ALL Americans, gay or not.

So you are you belitting his sacrifice, or just saying it doesn't matter?

I have to point out this thread that good ol' Dennis started, obviously as a retort to this thread. Unfortunatly, like FOX, he isn't so good at his research and didn't bother to read the rest of the page he linked to.

Good thing these crazy folks are a very very small minority. Unfortunatly, they are somewhat loud. Funny how they didn't respond to this one. I would have thought it would bring the gay bashers out in force! I guess they don't like it when their points are shown to be hollow and self serving.

Hmm I wonder why these types of posts are always made by people who are not in the USA.

I don't reckon if you could somehow take this information to the front lines of WW2 that you'd get many (if any) high fives from the soldiers. I suspect almost every one of them would have been much more content with gays remaining well hidden inside the closet.

They are made by those outside the USA because we have learned over the past 10 years that, unlike the rest of the world, you seem to pay attention to the crazies.

What, you think it is okay for the US to give their opinions on every situation and not recive it back? Talk about a double standard!

As for gays in WWII, the fact is that you owe YOUR freedom, right now, to a very very GAY englishman. Allan Turning was the one who cracked Enigma, without the information that he was able to decode, Germany would have completed its "America Bomber" and by 1946 would have had a nuclear weapon which it was planning to drop on New York. Had Turning not been there, New York would be a radioactive memory right now. Colossus won the war.

Think on that next time you bash gays.

Speaking for myself, I have no problem with gays. I certainly would not wish them any harm. And, I don't hate them or bash them here. I have had many conversations on this subject here and have never wished them any harm, or bashed them here. You are welcome to check to see for yourself.

I just don't believe they should have the right to marry, same as a man and a woman.

That places them as a second class citizen with rights that are not equal. That places you on a very slippery slope and makes you a bigot. I am not trying to insult you, just pointing out what statments like that quoted above really mean.

Well, thats your opinion. You have a right to it as you wish.

There are a lot of bigots in the USA because every single time the gay marriage issue comes up for a vote in any municipality in the USA, it gets voted down.

Once again, thats your opinion. That does not make it right.

Our vote here in the USA on that issue counts.

Actually it was our resistance that made sure the germans didn't succeed in finishing their abomb. The brits tried to bomb the factory but didn't succeed, so our resistance sabotaged the factory and the transport...

But gays DO have the exact same rights as I do. They can marry a woman and I cannot marry a man.

it's just wrong...on so many levels.
