Hi,

Looking at getting one and got loads of questions,

Probably going to use 3x DS285, DS3400G and the Mini G or should I use something else ?

What's the standard -6 motor,325 blades and 3s like ? can I go 4s with this motor and blades ?

What's the -10 motor, 350 blades like ? is this only for 4s or can I use 3s ?

I would rather more flight time than ballastic power, I'm more into F3C with big smooth aero's than 3d so do I go 3s or 4s and what mAh lipo ?

Oh and what esc ?

Thanks.

With this machine you can pretty much do whatever you want as far as setup.
The servo's you listed are fine though for the tail servo, you could also use a 3500G or 9257 or BLS257.
There are a couple of different set up options. There are 2 base kits, a 3s with the -6 and 325's or a 4s with a -10 and 350's. for a gentler 3s setup you could use a 12t pinion. you could also use a smaller pinion with the -10 for a lower HS. either way use a 2200 mAh lipo.
Any other questions or if I was unclear on anything please feel free to ask here or via pm.

4s, Scorp. -10, and 350's should get you well over 5 minutes of the type flying you are talking about.

I think what I would try would be the 4s, -10, 350mm combo using either the 13 or 14T pinion. I would get both pinions so you could experiment a bit. I'd probably start with the 13T and start around the 3000 HS area. It should provide a stable flying heli. Use the 71mm stock paddles as they track nicely but are reasonably quick. The 350mm blades are not only longer but are wider providing quite a bit more blade surface. Also, the little bit of extra weight of the 4s packs over the 3s is just enough to make the heli even more stable in moderate wind.

Just to throw in another configuration I am building mine with a -8 motor, running 4S and 12 tooth pinion 350 mains and Stubz paddles with weights.

Ok thanks, well I'll probably go for the -10 as I don't want too much power, rather have more flying time

Can't get the TP esc over here, out of stock everywhere. Is it ok to use the Scorpion Commander LV45A V2 ESC 2-4S ?

I suggest the Castle Ice 50 or Ice 50 Lite. It works awesome, and is very customizable as far as programming is concerned.

I'm running Hitec 5065MG, GY520, Outrage 350mm blades, CY paddles and tail blades. Outrage 4's, CC 45, and BEC. I'm very happy with it.

The ice looks very nice, bought mine before they came out.
