I wanted to take a quick moment and share with the AP community that over the weekend the official TRIAX|lite 2.0 and TRIAX|cms went live and you can full details about them here: http://www.triax-aerial.com/triax/products.html

TRIAX|lite 2.0, $1750, plus shipping.

The Second Generation

The NEW TRIAX|lite 2.0 professional grade 3 axis camera mount was designed from the ground up with HD cinematography and photography in mind. The TRIAX|lite 2.0 is the second generation design, capable of carrying a wide range of cameras, from larger HD video cameras like the Panasonic HVX170/200 to DSLR's and small HD video cameras with no modification to the TRIAX|lite 2.0 or camera.

Features include:

* 7.75 inch opening for the camera, is anodized black and red and integrates several parts into one, reducing the overall weight. Entire gimbal ready to fly and mounting supports are 4.5lbs
* Modular in design and can be mounted to nearly any helicopter platform in a front mount or under slung configuration.
* Made from high quality aluminum and CNC cut to precision.
* 4 CWR(compact wire rope) isolators are used for vibration isolation.
* Continuous rotation digital high speed/high torque servos in all 3 axis and a rate gyro on the roll axis.
* Adjustable camera plate, allows user to adjust the height of the camera bed enabling the camera to sit at the center of rotation in all axis.
* Light weight, yet incredibly strong and rigid, perfect for the HD cinematographer or photographer.
* The TRIAX|lite 2.0 comes ready to use for the TREX700 or Joker/Maxi 2.

The design now incorporates changes to accept TRIAX|cms.

TRIAX|lite 2.0 + TRIAX|cms, $2550, plus shipping.

TRIAX|lite 2.0 + TRIAX|cms is currently the ONLY high quality production ready 3 axis camera gimble with 3 axis stabilizer(No drifting). We at TRIAX|AERIAL have spent the last several months modifying the TRIAX|lite design, developing TRIAX|cms, testing, more design changes, more testing, code changes, ect. All in effort to bring the most stable camera platform possible to RC aerial platforms.

TRIAX|cms is a single compact inertial measurement module that was designed to provide 3 axis stabilization specifically for the TRIAX|lite 2.0 camera mount improving the capture of high quality video or still images.

The TRIAX|cms module mounts directly under the camera mounting plate and provides direct servo control to stabilize the 3 axis.

No additional gyros, potentiometers or switches are used with this design. The one unit contains and provides all the necessary information to manage the stabilization.

Features for TRIAX|cms include:
* Designed for use with TRIAX|lite 2.0
* User selectable 2 or 3 axis stabilization
* User selectable cms only or Radio + cms control
* Downloadable FW upgrades
* Tested for use with JR XP9303 PCM Radio and similar radio systems.

We will be running an introductory sale price from now until 11/30/2009. All orders received between now and 11/30/2009 will receive a 15% discount off the list price.

We are currently offering current TRIAX users the oppertunity to purchase cms separately. We are also investigating selling the module standalone for other mounts.

Does the CSM integrate roll and pitch angles into the roll stabilization when the mount is panned from the center position?

For example, with the mount panned 90 left or right, when the helicopter attitude changes in pitch, it needs to be compensated in the roll axis.

This would be usefull to allow forward flight while pointing the camera to the side while tracking a moving vehicle versus pointing the nose of the helicopter at the object and flying sideways.

I think that the most important question here is what happens if I tilt the camera 90° down and I try to pan? will the roll(that in this situation is also a pan) counteract my pan, or will the system sense that and disable the roll level function?

Anyway this is a beautifull product! I think I will get a complete mount.
What is the weight?

thanks

Impressive work.

I like the no drifting part which usually plagues our mounts.

Will be looking forward to the Triax/CSM module being sold separately.

cheers
