If your using a 7100R you can simply plug the SwitchGlo into the empty GEAR channel, don't need to do anything except flip a switch to turn it on.

Only 7 channels and it works perfect.

How do you run a switchglow on a 7ch RX with every port used???
Just get rid of that pesky governor. Throttle curves work great!! Governors were invented for "beginners" that can't tune an engine, set up throttle geometry, and tune by ear.

OR

Just get rid of that pesky gyro. Real men flew helis without them. Gyros were invented for "beginners" that can't fly the tail.

There you have it, seven channels are no longer filled up!!

Can you use a y ??,I'd do it on AUX 2 with the gov......
I would recommand Y-ing on the throttle channel. This way, no switch activation is needed. Whenever the throttle is in Normal and low, glow will come on.

Have tried throttle but wasn't working.

I think it's because sometimes different switchglos have different trigger points. Some need some tweaking of ATVs which could have been my problem.

Now I have it at the gov channel but assigned to the throttle hold position. I always start my heli with TH on, so the glo turns on, and also every time I do an auto, it comes on just in case.

Like it like that, but I guess it could be done differently.

My Own Glo

A smart old man named Dr. Tim from CA. told me how to make my own...and it was fun-I enjoyed it. Total cost $12. I dont need another channel or use a switch on my radio. Just turn on a switch when I turn on my reciever. The funny part is I think I've done at least 3 crashes since then and it never moved or broke. The on/off switch thats on top (in 1 photo) was later moved to the front (the other photo) for better access.THROTTLE switch on = glo on. As I spool up...glo off. Cant beat it!!
See photos;

Very nice switch idea I've been thinking about putting a switch like that on my trex 700 for power on and off. The location is perfect. Did you make the bracket?

Thanks Jeremy

Push'n'Glow might be the ticket

Got a nice used heli this summer with the Switch'n'Glow on it. Got use to it real fast. I don't like all the extra hookup with a Y-harness but it does work well. Now that the Push'n'Glow is out and cheaper I think that is a nice compromise and I don't need to hook it up to the receiver, just add a JST lead to my battery pack. For all the money I have spent on Mavrikk remote glow leads and time fixing them, I think I will slowly start to add Push'n'Glow devices to my fleet.
