Can an 8s 550 swing 600mm blades? Where do I shop for belts to get the right one?

im sure it will swing 600's just fine, the trex 600e does it on 6s...

Finding a boom is easy - the Velocity is plenty long enough to cut down to fit, and its the right color...

The belt you could probrably use a trex 600 belt, raptor 50 or compass knight

Thanks Aussie,
Your info seems to be right on! The Raptor belt is apparently the correct length but is too wide, but a 670XL belt is available, so I don't think it's a big deal.

Does anyone think that there will be a significant amount of responsiveness lost to the larger blades?

resposiveness yes, you will loose some if you leave the head the way it is now.

I would suggest installing the Velocity main grips & try the velocity flybar...

The longer flybar will give you more cyclic authority.

I dont think you will loose anything from the conversion, I imagine you will get a more stable machine.

The head is the same design as the Velocity, and there is more than enough speed and response from that head.

But beware, you are building a rocket there - your batteries better be up to the task

just did a long boom conversion on my g550.I used a gohbee 90 belt and a century predator boom.obviousley had to cut the boom down, other wise a cake walk.i also installed the tail control rod from a tex 600n to get the servo back up to the front of the boom.
put 3 flights on it today running RT 610's at 2300 headspeed on 12s.it is a little more stable but not much, power is even more insane. the lighter disk loading really makes this think insane fast.
it wieghs 7 pounds even with 2 2600 6s packs.so it's a half pound lighter then my trex 600e's with same setup.

Century heli rep. To much power is never enough.
