NZ has a point, but what is the right way to solve the problem? Shoot them? If the cops can chase them off are we giving up freedom of press?

It's not a trite political correctness issue.

Now you are just trolling
or are you still being called "politically correct" in your comments? still comes down to some dude trying to get home to his peaceful (hopefully ) home and having a whole circus out the front of his place slowing him down and just being a pain in the arse, I would have done the same as him but worse, also the police have to take some of the blame here for letting this media circus congregate outside his house, I would bet they could be got for disturbing the peace look at all the comments on the youtube vid, it would be about 90% saying he was in the right....

dont confuse real news with trash reporting to make a buck, sounds like fox news are not a reputable company anyway, how can sitting out there like a pack of vultures waiting for something to happen be good news? the drama was over when they found that boy.....

I hope you are being a troll because the only other excuse is less flattering. Civility is not the same as political correctness. Inconvenience is not an excuse for assault or taking the law into your own hands. He called the cops and yet didn't wait on them. Even claimed he would take on twenty of them himself if they didn't show up. He was looking to create a situation. He took a bad situation and made it worse.
I would have done the same as him but worse
and you would be in jail.

No I'm not at all. Don't misunderstand me. I encourage you to get out of your car and charge at anyone who is in your way. Let us know how it went after you are released.

The guy in the car assaulted the man he was chasing around the van. Look up the definition of assault, you don't have to physically touch the person. The victim must believe that there is imminent danger however.

Depending on how this plays out, the guy attacking from behind could be charged with assault and battery *physical contact and so can the neighbour. He would have to defend his actions.

This case would be a **** show in court because everyone would be claiming self defence. The guy coming from behind used reasonable force (no punching, just grabbing) to restrain the man from atatcking his friend. I don't think he did anything wrong.

so if he "looks mean" at the guy that's assault? oh boy are you the type of person who thinks you can rehabilitate serial rapists too?

Going after someone like that is assault. You can legally use force against someone coming at you like that. A punch can actually be deadly or cause serious injury. So you are not required to be hit before you can act against a physical threat. The only issue is if the guy in yellow was justified in his actions. When acting in defense of another party, you must really know the situation. I suspect the guy in yellow did know the guy who was being assaulted and knew the situation. If the guy says he thought he would be physically attacked then the guy in yellow is in the clear.

Some of you guys are just unbelievable.

The guy who called the police clearly assaulted the man on the phone, when he chased him around the van. He didn't get the chance to hit him. But, it was an assault, none the less. He was looking for a fight from the get-go. His short temper caused the whole situation.

He should have stayed in his vehicle and blared his horn until they moved, and slowly kept moving the vehicle. He got out and confronted them a second time. That was when the sh*t hit the fan.

Some of you guys are off the hook.

You really think that the guy was looking for a fight?

He just wanted to go home. What he came home looking for some media types to start some Sh%$ with? Give me a break. It's pretty obvious to me that the media was getting bored and needed a story.
So they pissed this guy off and got what they wanted. How hard is it to move out of the street and let this guy pass. I can't believe that anybody would side with those media pricks. Liberal pussy BS if you ask me. Your home is your sanctuary.

Yes, I do. He's an arrogant punk azz biotch.
He just wanted to go home.
Then he should have just kept on going.
What he came home looking for some media types to start some Sh%$ with?
No, but they have a right to be there.
Give me a break.
No
It's pretty obvious to me that the media was getting bored and needed a story.
Now, that's off the hook! The Henee's invited the media by their actions. Otherwise, the media would have never been there.
How hard is it to move out of the street and let this guy pass.
His truck was moving, when he stopped it, got out and chased the guy around the van. No one was in his way at that point.
So they pissed this guy off and got what they wanted.
No, he's obviously a hot head, was already pissed off, and took it out on them.

That's the lamest thing said in this thread, next to pseudomyms "sue sue sue".

They weren't in his home. They weren't on his property. They were on a PUBLIC street.

No, but they have a right to be there.
No actually they don't. You cannot block a public street.
Now, that's off the hook! The Henee's invited the media by their actions. Otherwise, the media would have never been there.
Again the media has no right to impede traffic.
His truck was moving, when he stopped it, got out and chased the guy around the van. No one was in his way at that point.
You cannot tell from the video if people were still in his way.
No, he's obviously a hot head, was already pissed off, and took it out on them.
Took it out on them?? What? He yelled at some punk that deserved it.
They did. He got pissed and stopped a second time!
Again your just assuming this and when you assume something you make an Ass out of, well you get the point.
They weren't in his home. They weren't on his property. They were on a PUBLIC street.
Exactly a PUBLIC street that they had no right to block. These media types have people getting in there face all the time. Guess what they DESERVE it. Thats why they NEVER win in court. But I guess you know something more than the rest of the world. I hope one day you are harrased and see what it feels like. I guess you would just sit in your car like a pussy.

The media is a bunch of idiots. The only thing that would have made this story better would be if the guy had run them all down.

From his actions in the video.
No actually they don't. You cannot block a public street.
They weren't blocking the street. They were moving about the street, and getting out of his way.
Again the media has no right to impede traffic.
They weren't. Their vehicles were parked on the sides of the street. They have a right to cross the street, just like anyone else. How exactly were they "endangering his safety" anyway?
You cannot tell from the video if people were still in his way.
BS, look at the beginning of the video. There are no people (except the ones watching and filming HIM), vehicles, or equipment blocking the street. The people crossing the street, or walking in the street were moving out of his way.
Took it out on them?? What? He yelled at some punk that deserved it.
And threatened to fight them, and then approached one in a threatening manner. That's assault. Sorry, but that's the law. Oh, and the guy that he told "Don't go anywhere", that's kidnapping and a felony that'll get you 10 years in the pen. Unfortunately, I know that from personal experience.
Exactly a PUBLIC street that they had no right to block.
They weren't blocking it. He just didn't like them, and said so in the video.
These media types have people getting in there face all the time.
LOL I'd bet a thousand dollars that this is the first time he has ever had a confrontation with "the media", a confrontation he created none the less! How many times has the media got in your face?
Guess what they DESERVE it.
No, they don't.
Thats why they NEVER win in court.
There are several possible individual charges. Apparently, no one filed any charges. But, the hot head could definitely be charged with harassment, assault and kidnapping. The guy in the yellow shirt, assault and battery. As for civil charges, it's a moot point on both sides.
But I guess you know something more than the rest of the world.
No, just more than most, and especially more than you.
I hope one day you are harrased and see what it feels like.
Ha! That's mighty kind of you! Been there, done that... Hey, people wanna know! I actually was harassed for days. This guy had a confrontation with them that only lasted a few minutes.
I guess you would just sit in your car like a pussy.
No, I would have laid on the horn, and slowly proceeded down the street, like a rational person. Is the winkie supposed to make that statement less of an insult? I invite you to come over here and say that to my face. I bet you won't. You'll stay home like a pussy

FirstPlace,
Please keep it civil,

IF Your going to make posts claiming "absolutes" you can't expect people to not take exception at your posts.

The report said no one pressed charges, that means that if one side had pressed charges, then the other side would also press then both sides would lose. Thats why both oviously decided not to press charges, as both were guilty so its a mute point.

And if you watch the video, it is very ovious that the camera man ran up to the guys window taunting him, you can see the reflection in the driver's window, thats why he stopped the second time and got out of his truck so the only thing he probably would have been charged with was the fight with yellow shirt.

And FYI, Just telling someone to "stay right there" is Not considered kidnapping

Which is worse, ignorance or apathy? I don't know and I don't care!
