So i have been flying since late 90's WAY WAY more this year then in the past 10 years combined...not crashing every 3 flights makes you wanna fly more (instead of rebuilding)

I finally installed a MULTI GOV with Backplate Sensor on my large NITRO and WOW, HOLY COW...WHAT A HUGE DIFFERENCE...seems like the heli is way more stable and ALMOST easier to fly.
I swear this should be #1 must have upgrade, No other part made this much difference before in my flying! I can safely say i NEVER want to fly curves again!

So this brings me to question my little electrics.. To be specific i have a couple of Align trex 450's... i hear the ALIGN Governor is not so good, i run a 100% FLAT LINE but still wondering

Has anyone had any great experiences with other ESC's in Governor Mode? Or are they all worthless because we run flat lines on the electrics?

Don't u just love your governor!!!

Fly, Fly then Fly some more!!

I run a flat line on my Mini Titan with the stock TT esc. Never really tried the gov. function, told it doesn't work well for electrics. Kind of a one sided opinion, maybe some one else will chime in.

Who raised the ground since I took off?

There's a few, really good esc's with a decent governor mode, most of them suck and pulse the tail. I run curves on all my electric stuff.

For the most part the ESC gov is not worth using. They are prone to create surgeing and are slow to respond.

Your power is also reduced as the gov needs to have some breathing room so your actual HS would be like at 90% with Gov vs 100% without.

Flat line is the way to go.

Glad your having a ball.........

I run Castle Creations ESCs with a programable GOV. Its much easier than using an optical tach and percentages. The first version took a bit of trial and error to get the settings correct, but the latest version takes all the guess work out of it.

I am with you, when I switched to GOV on all my birds, nitro and electric, my skills increased very quickly. Most guys I know with 450s fly flatt line. The only problem I have with that is Helicopter ESCs are not designed to run flatt out based on the higher AMP load.

A friend at the club flies Jazz ESCs with GOV mode and is very happy with thier performance

You gear the heli so that you acheive desired head speed at 75% to 85% throttle.
